Several years ago, Vicinoteca was one of our favorite restaurants in Schweinfurt. In 2014 we had several disappointing experiences there and had not been back until this visit. Fortunately, the restaurant has regained its reputation for excellence and I can again recommend it. The dining area is very cramped. Many guests were seated on high bar stools and ate their meals from small round cocktail tables. As the restaurant is always crowded, reservations are strongly recommended. The menu features the usual Italian favorites. We four had and shared orders of Calamari, Ossobucco, Miesmuscheln, and a Spaghetti Bolognese. This restaurant hides behind the Schweinfurt City hall. There are only a few tables inside and some outside. The food is excellent, recently I had the best grilled Tuna steak ever. Large collection of wines and several seafood choices. Competent service from friendly staff. Prices are a little bit above Schweinfurt average but justified considering the quality delivered. The place is popular so reserve a table beforehand to be on the save side.
Do not go here unless you are fluent in German. We stopped in and were told there were no outside seats, they were reserved. Theye put us inside and it was so hot! We were the only people inside. We decided to leave and go next door to the Ristorante Roma. It was outstanding! We sat outside and couldn't help but noticed no one ever showed up for their reservations, plenty of outside tables
Sehr nettes Personal, tolle Präsentation des Essens und der Geschmack köstlich! Die Gerichte sind sehr kreativ und es gibt eine große Auswahl an sehr guten Weinen. Wenn es etwas zu bemängeln gibt, dann ist es der Preis, insbesondere für den Flaschenwein.
