This review is for our dinner at the Inn's Tavern restaurant. We are staying in Easton but wanted a special place for our anniversary dinner, so we made an online reservation and drove to Oxford. The drive was delightful, and Oxford is a charming little town. Our dinner was a five-star experience. We ordered a drink and a glass of wine, and shared the Eastern Shore crab appetizer, which featured lump crab wrapped in thin cucumber slices. The presentation was stunning and the flavor was exquisite. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his fish and chips, while I savored the outstanding shrimp curry—I nearly licked the plate to gather the last bit of sauce! We had our small wedding here in mid May and it couldn’t have been more perfect. Rain meant we had to move the service inside but Elinor couldn’t have been more gracious and accommodating. We reserved the front room and had the ceremony in front of the fireplace, then moved the group to the lobby for champagne and canapés while the crew flipped the room and set the table for dinner for 14. The food (Mark’s menu- worked out with us in advance) was absolutely outstanding, and we gave him a standing ovation when he came to say hi at the end of the meal. The highlight of our visit was the day spent at the Robert Morris Inn. Just such a delight to experience such history first-hand accompanied by an exquisite meal at the on-premise restaurant. We were ecstatic and can strongly recommend this beautiful and historical inn to anyone seeking a getaway while experiencing such a steeped-in-history location. Bravo! The Robert Morris Inn dining experience was very good overall. The ambience was great. Food was very good. We sat outside which made a very pleasant atmosphere. However, the waiter we had may have been new, but needed more training. She wanted to take out food order at the same time that we order wine, and did not give us time to look at either menu. We had to ask her to remove dishes. She never asked if we wanted another drink. She presented check w/o asking if we wanted dessert. We did, but she didn’t offer to get dessert menu. Had to ask for it. She was pleasant enough but definitely needs more skill training. We went lol return and hope for a better experience .

Upping my review to 5 stars the experience I had at the Inn’s restaurant was excellent! Great service and amazing food. Presentation and ambiance also contribute to the experience and make it feel authentic. Would definitely return in the future. Hope to one day experience the Inn as a guest in one of the rooms! Old hotel, but we liked the room with sea view. Our room was not in the hotel, but by the sea. And there are two beach chairs in the room. What a pleasant surprise. Amazing experience! Friendly staff, delicious food and awesome live music. The restaurant was enriched in history and had really pretty art. They were super accommodating to our kids. We got the fish and chips, crab cakes and crab soup! 10/10! Overall excellent!
If you're visiting the Chesapeake Bay area, a meal at The Robert Morris Inn is essential. Their crab cake dinner is unmatched and sets the standard for how crab cakes should be prepared at any restaurant across the U.S.

Wonderful food. Sorry to hear the chef will be leaving Y end of September. Nice atmosphere inside.
