My husband eats country/chicken fried steak in every state we travel through. He ranked this one the 2nd best that he has ever eaten (that says A LOT! I had the fried green tomatoes and they were good. The batter was a little different from the fried green tomatoes that I have had in other places (a little thicker and had some spice to it , the tomatoes were juicy overall I liked them. I then had a dish that I had never had before called “Spaetzle which are tiny dumplings that are fried in a skillet or on a griddle I think. It was called Rock Cafe Spaetzle”, which had these tiny dumplings topped in bacon, tomatoes, bell peppers and a lot of cheese. It was too much cheese for me, so I scooped...
I was not familiar with this area, so when we first arrived, I was reminded of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre. However, I was pleasantly surprised by the quirky, old-time feel of the restaurant. The decor seemed to be inspired by fall. Despite my initial impression, I was blown away by the delicious food. The portions were generous and everything we tried was absolutely delicious. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal!
My grandpa took me here in 67 for my first cup of coffee. Served up by Mable, it burnt my tongue and tasted terrible. It was a 24hr. resturant then and when you said ROCK you said it all. It was tradition and custom to drink together then meet at 3am and blow chow together but I must say....the Ruben has gotten much much better. Give it a Go....and tell Megan hi for me.
This restaurant in Oklahoma is a must-visit. The menu offers a great variety of American dishes, including a few delicious German options. You don't often find dishes like jäger, schnitzel, and spaetzle, but they have them here along with Bisonburgers and daily specials. The portions are generous and the staff is very friendly.

After a disappointing road trip, I explored the city and discovered this hidden gem of a restaurant. My family and I absolutely loved it! It was definitely the highlight of our day. Even my two teenage girls were so impressed that they put down their phones. Everything we tried was fantastic.
The sparrow with cheese was amazing!! So crispy and cheesy! Also my bacon cheese burger loved so well. Super friendly staff. I love it here
Great service. Meat loaf was excellent. Hamburger average. Good fries. Good,but no great peach cobbler. Worth stop if only for the history

A must stop if we are passing through Stroud or in the mood for a car cruise along Route 66.
