As others have mentioned, the bread and pastries here are excellent. However, the ordering process and service for drinks and food leave much to be desired. We ordered breakfast sandwiches and coffee, and while the sandwiches were served within about 10 minutes, we struggled to find our drinks afterwards. After enjoying our food at a table outside, we went back to see if our drinks were ready, but they were still not prepared. There seemed to be plenty of staff milling about, yet very few were actually assisting customers. Love this place. They have truly exceptional pastries and delicious bread. The best thing that they had during the pandemic was a walk-up window so that you could go up and order even if you were taking your dog out on a walk. They've since opened up their cafe and have the walk-up window only for online orders. It'd be great if they could still accommodate people who are walking with their animals and have a sign saying that you can take your order at the window. Especially because the location of rocket baby and the most walkable neighborhood in all of Wauwatosa. My friend and I were out running errands and i remember when Rocket baby opened their doors and everything was great-today however was not that experience-we followed the ropes and the clerk let a man walk in front of us, no one asked if we need help or said hello when we walked in- there were 3 people one at the register and the other took bewildered-when asked were we in the right line he was Kurt and just started no warm and friendly for a mom and pop business-we declined to spend our money here and walked out- bye bye Rocket Baby-I won’t be back
And of course, the blueberry danish remains my favorite. I apologize for only sharing a photo of the blueberry pastry; I was too excited to try the apricot one! I love the food, location, and atmosphere of the place. What needs work is the process of ordering. The current process of walking past all the items and making your choice, only to be told the items have sold is confusing and inconvenient. It's also the only bakery I've been to where you have to wait for items in the case to be brought out to you.
I absolutely love the chocolate and butter croissants, and the French loaf is fantastic too. The bread is beautifully crafted. However, now that the tables are open, the service has become chaotic; it’s unfortunately slow and disorganized. The front staff seem unsure of what is available, despite there still being items on display.
It use to be one of my favorite places to get breakfast but now the waiting time for a single coffe is up to 30min and i’m happy that bussnes is going good but i got there at 10:30 and they dude y have any thing at all And the Food is not that good any more
Honestly it’s gone down hill. When it started it was great. Now the menu is stale and they rarely have much bakery left past 10am. It’s sad. I had the walnut salad. It would be nice if I got a single walnut. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
Always great bakery, if you can withstand the ordering process. You can see the bakery as you go through line, but then told it is sold out. Or you order and they lose your ticket. Bring your patience.
