No doubt the pizza dough was excellent because the crust on its own tasted great. I was severely disappointed with the center area of the pizza though. The crust was noticeably wet at the bottom and flopped over immediately when lifted, causing THE TOPPINGS TO FALL OFF THE PIZZA. This was a huge problem with the capricciosa was that the ingredients were way too hydrated and heavy and just slid off the pizza and I HAD TO use utensils to eat it. Flavor was not bad. I like the ingredient combo but we got only like 1 prosciutto piece that spanned two slices. The Fungi was the only one and it stuck well to the pizza better (the toppings). I would rate this restaurant between 4.5 and 5 stars. While it's not the best pizza I've ever had, it was still quite good. I have high standards due to my location in the states. Our waitress was incredibly friendly and cheerful, taking excellent care of us despite the busy atmosphere and being slightly short-staffed. We started with a shared plate of olives, which were delicious, and I especially enjoyed the red ones, which I hadn't tried before. Let me tell you... I strongly disagree with those who have given this place a low rating. Why? Because I can confidently say that this pizza was outstanding. If you knew the high standards I have, you'd understand my enthusiasm. As for me and this restaurant, I have no hesitation in giving it 5 STARS. Best pizza outside of Chicago, northern Italy, and NY (in that order). So good, we ate there twice. The first time upon our arrival in Canmore as a stopping-off point to Banff and Jasper, and then again while passing through on the way back to Calgary. I got a pepperoni/sausage pizza....the pepperoni was crispy, and the sausage delicious. Crust was awesome. My daughter and wife both got one with prosciutto. Bartender gave us a tip to dip our pizza into a combination of chili oil with honey. Absolute flavor bomb. Would def return if we were ever passing through the area again.
The hype is real. Believe the hype. Stayed in Canmore for just under a week. Got Rocket Pie for take out on night 2, had to come back for seconds. First night we got a margarita pizza, which was a 10/10. And the creamy garlic dip leveled it up. Second trip, we got a pepperoni pizza, the kale salad, and the house focaccia bread. Hands down one of the best pizzas we've ever had (we are from northern NJ, basically NYC-adjacent; we know good pizza). Go here if you're in the area, you won't be disappointed.
So yummy!! The crust was nice and crisp and had a light layer of sauce which I love. My husband got the meatball calzone and it had great flavor too. Topped everything with the chili oil. Would eat here again. Chill vibe inside and friendly staff.
I'm not trying to be dramatic but this is hands down the best pizza I have ever had. The ambiance is phenomenal. Their chili oil is to die for. Their salads, DELICIOUS. The service, food and beer are all fantastic.
Stayed at a nearby AirBnB and got takeout. The pizza is delicious. It's better than fast-food pizza and not fancy, so right in the middle. Thin crust, good quality toppings. One pizza fed 3 of us gals.
Great pizza! Our server, Maddie, had excellent recommendations and attentive. Situated in the corner of a shopping center, the restaurant is easy to get to.
