As you step into Romano’s, which has been a staple in the Littleton area since 1967, you feel like you've entered an Italian grandmother's home rather than just a restaurant. From the moment you arrive, it's clear that you’re in for some lovingly prepared food.
Before placing our order, we asked what they make in-house, and they shared that they prepare their own dough, sauce, meatballs, and some of their noodles. Naturally, we had to try all of those items.

This restaurant is a family favorite. While the decor might feel a bit dated, it actually contributes to its charm. The food is exceptional, and there's an excellent variety of gluten-free options. Our daughter’s first words were even uttered here: "More butter," thanks to the delightful bread and butter. She's always adored the pasta and meatballs, a love that has continued from her childhood to this day.
This is undoubtedly the best calzone I've ever had. The crust was perfect—not too doughy like at some other places. Their unsweetened tea was delightful as well. The only unusual aspect was that you have to walk through the kitchen to reach some of the seating, but it was actually really interesting to see all the activity!
This Italian eatery is a welcoming neighborhood treasure with a wonderful family vibe. It’s the ideal setting to unwind and enjoy long conversations while savoring delicious dishes. Edit: I returned for a second visit, and it was a completely different experience. The woman at the takeout window was incredibly rude, and the lady preparing my calzone was not friendly either. It's disappointing to see family-owned places lose their charm; there aren’t many left.
