Attended 24 April 5pm for dinner as felt like a old home made supper and hungry. We were placed at a window table in good time. We ordered drinks right away and asked for glass of ice and water. Came in good time and ordered our main food dishes. I had a veal cutlet with gravy roasted potatoes and veggies and small soup. The food also came in good time and I asked for a glass of cold water. Very little gravy on cutlets so went to the front desk and asked for a small bowl. Came but no spoon and asked for one. We almost finished our meals and I finally got my glass of water. The restaurant now 5:40PM and not even half full but a few more people arriving. We had finished our main meals and now...
We ended up here by accident. Tried to go to IHOP and it was closed for some reason. This place has great breakfast and it's no wonder since it's been in place almost three decades. It was quiet when we went in and we basically had the place to ourselves. I suppose I shouldn't have been surprised to get like warm coffee - probably none had been made in a while because no one had ordered any. However, it really made me wonder how long the coffee had been sitting around.I had the French toast and it was delicious. My husband had a basic breakfast with toast, eggs, sausage, etc. He loved it and really loved the sausages.The server was very nice and the food came out quickly. We will definitely...
Roseland has become a fairly regular place for a meal given family dynamics this past while. The welcome at the door is always friendly, that first cup of coffee comes fast and depending if we are in a hurry or just want a quiet leisurely meal they aim to please. The soups are homemade and totally yummy. They are so good we would love it if it came in a bigger bowl! Having been there from everything from breakfast...which they offer all day...right through to lunch and dinner we have never had a meal to complain about. Will go back and absolutely would suggest the Roseland as a great place to eat.
We have been going to the Roseland for over 10 years. Usually very consistent and good food and value. This visit was on a very cold and chilly night. Lots of customers. We had our usual style of dinner. Manhattan Clam Chowder and Chef Salad for me and Chicken Broccoli Bake for "Awesome Lady" The dinner was very good. Soup was very tasty, the salad was very good, ham, turkey, egg, cheese, lots of veggie. Chicken Broccoli was very good, broccoli was not over-cooked, plenty of chicken, plenty of rice, slight bit of curry. The only problem was that the service was unusually slow. The waitress was friendly and attentive but the food was awful, I had the soup of the day which was celery. it tasted like flour, water and a couple bits that looked like they might have been celery in another life and the lasagna was literally overcooked lasagna noodles dropped onto a pan with a scoop of generic sauce covered with cheese. the cheese was nicely browned so it looked like it was going to be good but looks was as far as it went. coffee was good and service was as well.
Recommended by my wife's sister and brother-in-law and we were not disappointed! Friendly, welcoming staff - owner also was present and welcomed us and engaged in conversation. Excellent menu selection. Brother-in-law and I had the salisbury steak, my wife had the chicken quesadillas and her sister had veal cutlet. Very generous portions and reasonably priced. Good value.Well designed, good atmosphere and clean washrooms. Staff take pride in their service and it shows!
My bf and I came here to try the $5.99 breakfast special. We had sausages, eggs hashbrowns and toast. I had a tea, my boyfriend had a juice . The food was good, but our bill was over $25.00 :(Its not a great place to enjoy an affordable brrakfast. Apparently you get 3 brekky choices... with the toast on the side, and our drinks it spiked our bill, so be for warned!!! Its good food, not Good on your wallet!!!
Stopped here for breakfast, unsure on what to expect. We both ordered the bacon omlete, which were basic & standard regarding flavour & style. Service was lacking from our original server, however the staff members came around with refill for the coffee. Good breakfast. Snowy morning had breakfast with a bunch of local people. Good quick service no problems. Single waitress for all of us but reliable service. When did breakfast coffee become a 2.99 dollar add on?
