Rotisserie Henri IV

We were a little late for lunch and were frustrated at our restaurant options..which basically were none. .Most places were closed around 2pm....What can I say I went on Trip Advisor and just had to trust my fellow reviewers. We were so very pleased with the recommendations. This restaurant embraced our non reservation late lunch arrival with grace. Even though we were not offered the complete menu at this late hour The items offered were probably what we would have ordered anyway. Just ask any local where you should eat. and I mean any local in a range of 15 miles. They will tell you to have your meal at Henri IV. Owners of vineyards, local craftsmen, families, tourists all together enjoy the simple and authentic dishes presented on blackboards. You can choose what is roasting, so no fast food situations heated up in the cuisine. Just the smell makes already relevant. Sitting inside or on the terras is up to you to decide. We came 2 times in 2 days and we stayed inside. The interior was charming, no need to spend a night on a terras. Take your time, relax and enjoy the local red wines. Etienne Goutorbe's pinot noir was a delightful discovery.

We were recommended to go here for lunch by a champagne house nearby. They called and got us a table although the restaurant was full.If you can get a table outside on a sunny day it would be even nicer.We had the steak tartar as well as the mixed rotisserie plate and both were delicious.The lovely thing was how kind and happy the lady who may have owned the restaurant was, she went out of her way to make sure we knew what everything was and apologised for items being sold out and then brought us complimentary mini creme brûlée at the end!

My husband had been dreaming of the rotisserie chickens in the market (we were in a hotel room with no way to eat an entire chicken)This place fulfilled his dream and mine! The cockerel that I ate was perfect and the gratiné dauphin tasted heavenly! According to the hotel the best restaurant ay. we sat out in the small sauce. the menu was presented on griffel boards, a little unclear. we got a decent heel with the translation and we were warned that there was a lot of food, it was true! the food was well cooked, but no sensational! good wine list and of course a good selection of champagnes from ay with omnejd.

very pleasant roast restaurant. attentive service, beautiful terrace and quality kitchen. a nice effort on desserts with a very good tiramisu and a sought after gourmet coffee. Not to miss.
