I have a strong appreciation for restaurants in this category, and I tend to rate fine dining and fast food equally. Round Table Pizza in Castro Valley has been a staple in the neighborhood for quite some time. I rated it highly due to the excellent service we received during our recent visit. We were planning a birthday party for our daughter, and I called to place an order for food for the gathering, which was scheduled to start after school. The woman I spoke with was not only pleasant but also very helpful. I ordered seven extra-large pizzas and some chicken wings to be ready by 3:30 p.m., and she assured me there would be no problem accommodating our group of 14 to 18 people.

Round Table is my favorite chain pizza place. The pizza quality is great, especially when served hot. The Castro Valley location, although convenient, has been losing some of its charm. The food quality remains consistent, but the service is declining. The last time I ordered, it took over 40 minutes to get my pizza because only one person was working when I arrived. She had to pause taking phone orders and assisting customers to make the pizza. This visit, while the pizza was ready on time, the young woman handling checkout appeared overwhelmed and unsure of what to do. It seems this location may be understaffed and would benefit from investing more in their employees.
Yesterday, I called to order two pizzas from Round Table Pizza. When I arrived to pick them up after 30 minutes, I was given only one pizza. I then had to wait an additional 40 minutes for the second pizza, only to learn they had forgotten to make it. The first pizza I received was cold and overcooked. Frustrated, I left the $50 receipt and the pizza on the counter and went home. Thank you.
Hello everyone, I want to share my experience at this restaurant. Unfortunately, the owner has been unfairly taking tips from the employees by deducting credit card tips from their weekly paychecks. For instance, if you leave a $5 tip on a credit card, the employee’s paycheck is reduced by that same amount. To make sure the staff receives the full tip, I suggest leaving tips in cash.

I ordered a personal pan pizza and a garden salad, but they delivered the wrong salad with lettuce and peppers instead! This was far from a garden salad. I won't be ordering delivery from Round Table Pizza again. The service while placing the order was disappointing.
