Very low key and unassuming restaurant. Small menu (thank goodness, I appreciate a small menu). We went for lunch. We requested the Nepali menu. We ordered from both the Chinese and Nepali menus. The non vegetarian sampler of Nepali food was yummy! The tomatoey sauce was very flavorful and rich and kind of savory and delicious. The momo (we had steamed pork cooked so well, tender juicy and tasty). I don’t know how things SHOULD taste but they DID taste great to me! Chinese food options are old school American Chinese food but very tasty and well done. My favorite for classic American “Chinese” food iykwim. Cool little spot to try some Nepalese or Chinese. At first, I was confused because they show up as two different places. The Chinese and Nepalese restaurant are combined. When you sit down, the waitress brings two menus, which is interesting. I had some cauliflower curry from the Nepalese menu, and it was DELICIOUS! There was lots of ginger and heavy spices (which I appreciate). The rice was over cooked and the chai tea tasted like it was from an instant mix, but the curry was so good that it overrode those drawbacks in my rating.
Everything but the egg rolls tasted off. The chicken for both dishes was fatty, rubbery and salty. Plus the rice tasted off. Usually I would eat all the rice but couldn't even eat half a serving. It tasted like spongy instant rice. The the crab Rangoon tasted like they hadn't changed the oil and the cream cheese was cold and waxy. Leaving this review with one positive. The egg rolls were good. I thought they were a good size and flavourful.
The chicken curry was very tender and nicely flavored. Mild and the flavors of the various spices were clear, not overly hot. The lo mein noodles were tender and the sauce flavorful. Menu was carefully and thoughtfully designed. Not hundreds of items but a nice variety. We will come back.
Delicious food and lovely service. Recommend 100%. PS Signage not great, as it indicated former Chinese restaurant is in place. Work around that to Discover Everest ! And, I just learned the sign is changed and better. Thank you, Everest Cafe! Wonderful response, food, and service!
The sweet and sour was 1/4 full, they forgot one rice, steamed dumplings were over cooked, triple delight spilled all over bag
Great service, food was delicious, and the portions were generous. I also really appreciate the quiet atmosphere.
Try omos the Nepalese dumpling from the Everest Menu, as well as Chinese favorites.
Tso's Chicken taste like sweet and sour chicken. Dumplings was cold and very dry
