recommend to sit in the dining part for a drink that offers more beautiful decoration and some cozy lounges that are great to sit back and have a glass or two wein. the cocktails are just $12, which is very valuable, but they were overwhelming I would recommend to stay beer and wein in this hotel. we were there on Monday evening as a group to dinner and the menu had a great selection of pub classics, pizzas, salads and other netzens. Monday night is carving house at night and for $17 you can get carving chips and salat with all the lavish. Massive dreary space with no personality or style that feels like an anonymous hospital cafeteria, except that the whole time I could smell cigarettes wafting in from the outdoor smoking area. I honestly do not understand how a venue like this remains profitable it must run solely on the pokies The menu is uninspired (such a shame because we all love good modern pub food) and the food disgusting. the royal hotel has a bistro with its typical pub options; steaks, burger, calamari, pizzas and desserts as well as bruschetta and garlauchbrot. I've been here a lot, and that's in order. tables right in front of the bar and eat quickly. the bar. the hotel has a sports bar, pokies, take them away and a few bars. what is awesome is the drink menu $12 cocktails and the mojitos were very nice and very alcoholic. weine were also a good spout. the amount is a mix of university students, older people and some interesting people in the sport.
Overpriced drinks and poor wine list. It's cheap plonk they charge you $10 a glass for! Sterile environment with bright and glaring lights which makes it impossibleto relax.. It's more like an RSL but....With a hotel price list. Food is decent but again, overpriced for what it is. Wouldn't go back. Thank God the Cookhouse opened
Also I wasn't really impressed with the staff at the Royal. They were to be frank very unwelcoming. I'm sure the Uncle gets great service in the Sports Bar as he is a regular but the bistro and lounge bar staff could barely crack a smile.
