Even though The Royal Oak is very close to where we live, we hadn't dined there in a while. To be honest, the food had not been very good on previous visits. However, we had heard from various people that things had improved, and the reviews on TripAdvisor seemed to confirm this, so we decided to give it another shot. We were not disappointed. The bar staff were friendly, and our food was delivered quickly and hot. The portion sizes were generous and the food was delicious. We definitely won't wait as long before our next visit. Our only suggestion would be to offer a wider selection of cask ales. While I enjoy Old Speckled Hen, having a different guest beer would be a nice addition.
Spent an evening at The Royal Oak with a large group of friends to celebrate my daughter’s birthday. When we arrived our table was laid up with table cloths and decorations which was a lovely surprise. Some of our party ran a little late but the kitchen staff and Lau were very accommodating and nothing was too much trouble. To top it off the cake came out with a complimentary dessert with a candle in. We were made to feel very welcome by every member of staff and would like to thank Lau especially for making the evening special.
We made a reservation the day before and requested a specific table. When we arrived, our table was ready for us. The menu had a fantastic selection for us to choose from, including options for our 6-year-old. Each of us ordered different dishes, but they all arrived hot and at the same time. Two of the dishes had modifications, and to our surprise, they were prepared correctly. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and had no complaints. Thank you so much! We will definitely be returning.
Visited last weekend on Friday night. Had a few drinks, and must say service speed has improved and seems quicker. Nice to see the amount of staff that were on shift and able to handle the busy crowds. We decided to have food, also great, came quick and food was hot and delicious. Fantastic experience and will be back.

Popped in for lunch met with friendly faces, quite busy as it was a Friday. Good atmosphere. We ordered food and were told we would have to wait a little while as there was a party. When the food arrived it was hot and tasty. Extremely good value from the 2 for £11.50 selection. It’s good pub grub.
A group of us go out once a month for lunch and today there were 9 of us came for lunch my food was very good but one of my friends found the chicken in the main meal choice a bit on tthe tough side and found the service not quite as good as whenn we have been before

The new manager is fantastic! The food is outstanding. This pub is great, with friendly people and a fun night out. It could possibly be the best local pub in Hucclecote.

Lovely to see the pub busy. Service was excellent (thank you Lau) Food was great and very quick despite being a busy night on the run up to Christmas.
