Looking on line for something outside the mainstream of Canadian/American cuisine, we happened upon Amherstburg's Royal Sushi House, right in the middle of Amherstburg's downtown. Wow! What a find! This small restaurant has three or four booths and some counter seating, so it might be best...to make a reservation. Their reservation process includes a call to the restaurant, which promises a return confirming call. We called, they didn't, but did have our names when we arrived. (Note: Take out is available. I've been driving almost exclusively to royal sushi for years. every time I try another place, I regret it and wish I was here. this is a small, family-oriented place, since amherstburg is a small city. what emphasizes this place is the fresh of eating and the pleasant atmosphere. on the surface it can seem simple and a bit of townie, but they will not be disappointed. there are some really good dishes to have.
Looking for something different than the regular take out options, I ordered from Royal Sushi House for the first time and the whole family was very impressed with the quality of the food. Also looks like a fun place to dine in, a lot of...character packed into a small place. We had 3 different types of rolls, all delicious, and an udon noodle stir fry. Will definitely be back.
I decided to try this place with my friend, because we didn't want to go out of town and it was one of the best decisions we made! her sushi is honest the best! it is so delicious and fresh. We ordered take out on line for the first time. We set a time that we wanted our order ready for thinking it would take forever. We confirmed our order by phone and were told that our order would be ready BEFORE the time we...had selected! It was ready and delicious!
Mine and my wife's favourite restaurant used to be a sushi joint in Windsor. When that location closed we tried Royal Sushi and have been back ever since almost twice monthly. Linda makes the freshest and most delicious sushi in all of Essex County!
this place is a hidden gem, the quality is unbeatable and its service is great! I wish I could enjoy eating in her place, but I'm glad I can still take off. would be highly recommended, their food is always fresh and never disappointed.

If you enjoy sushi, or Japanese cuisine in general, stop by here. We have not once had a bad meal, service, or general overall experience. Love this place.
