Went to the Southport RSL to see a show in a Friday night. Staff at reception were friendly and efficient. We went to the bistro for a meal. It was very busy so there was a 30 minute wait for meals fair enough. The bistro area is woefully undersize for a crowded night. It was unnerving having people weaving between diners looking for a spare table and glaring at you in an effort to hurry you along. Finally meals were ready and they were disappointing. The burger was fresh but lacking in taste, and the calamari was like old boots. All this while overhead someone on the mic was yelling out raffle results non stop. It’s quieter eating at Maccas! Went with friends for dinner. Salt water barramundi was as if it was a cheap supermarket frozen food section brand. Actually, supermarket product would be more superior. The size and texture was as if mass processed rather than real fillets of fish. Why can't you so called chefs be more creative with your food and do a bit of real time cooking prep instead of using frozen prepared products. Last time we will eat there. Great to see and hear the new renovations happening while eating. Unfortunately it won't make a difference if you can't deliver a better food product. Good luck.
I visited some weeks ago and asked the restaurant what vegetarian meals are available. Told Spring Rolls and Stir fry Veges or ONLY fish Basa. Most people I know wont eat this fish. I was told by staff to fill in form advising of my experience... NOBODY has contacted me. Today I returned to RSL Southport club...Exactly the same menu and Yes you guessed it Basa fish ONLY. I declined and walked out. Many of my friends have already walked from the club. Ive been a loyal member many years but feeling the same way...what a shame...

We had a delightful roast pork lunch on Sunday. Members can enjoy this great deal for just $5 a year. The staff is very friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere is pleasant. The band was fantastic, although a bit too loud for some of us older folks. It was also a wonderful opportunity for the local lion dancers to perform.
Absolutely awful, had a Steak Sandwich on first taste the steak tasted off the chips had so much salt on them the meal was completely uneatable. They are presently under renovation so hopefully once completed they get a new chef. They have lost me as a customer.
Have eaten here often when on holidays. It is roomy and has an extensive menu to choose from. Different nights offer different deals. An added bonus, the meals are hot when they arrive on the table! There is a playroom for the children.

I order the crumbed barramundi with chips, the barramundi was small and pre cooked, very oily. My husband had a burger, he didnt think it was anything amazing for the 18 dollars they charge.
Very yummy food affordable and quick. Customer service was excellent from sign in to ordering and delivery of meals. Covid safe venue. Clean and tidy
