We popped in on 29/4/17 and bought some take-away cakes. We asked for two caramel slices and a piece of syrup cake. The assistant said what caramel slice? There is only one - I looked at the tag and said "oops sorry, the caramel/choc slice", the assistant said "Ok so, two caramel slices then"... Arghhh. After ordering and paying, the assistant said "I'll get those when I can". She then took another three orders and served one more person (a cake!) before retrieving our cakes from the display cabinet. Meanwhile we stood in the doorway getting in everyone's way. Five of us, on a "girls' weekend", enjoyed a lovely healthy & quick lunch here on a dreary Saturday afternoon. The atmosphere inside Ruby's was buzzing and sunny. To our right were a couple going over house plans with their builder, to our left were a small group chatting over business decisions. Other tables were like us, out for a lovely lunch and conversation.Hearty soups, frittata, home made pies and pasties and salmon croquettes were on the menu. Great selection of Gluten free foods, including pies and pasties.I had the green eggs and ham, and my husband the pastie with 2 salads (potato salad and pumpkin salad). Both were very good.Very good selection of gluten free cakes, we tried the Lumberjack cake and coffee cake. very nice coffee as well.

Nice place to stop on by and sit and have a coffee and slice in the ample outdoor seating or nice cool air conditioned interior. Beautifully made coffee and delicious cakes I will deffinately be back!
We thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast here. The coffee was the best I've had in Adelaide and the banana bread was to die for. Smashed avo with poached eggs was lovely. Service very friendly.
I haven't found anything on the menu that suits my palate or pocket for breakfast or lunch but they certainly have some yummy cakes to choose from. Coffee ok too.
