I highly recommend this place as one of the best Afghan cuisines in Adelaide showing the beauty of Afghani culture in food and presentation. We were recommended by friends to visit Rumi Palace as they claimed it is one of the best Afghan restaurants in Adelaide. From our visit, the entire dining experience was just brilliant! The restaurant has incredible cultural art maintaining the integrity of the culture. The staff welcomed us with a smile and a very warm welcome. The staff continuously checked with us to help and helped with explaining what some of the dishes were. The restaurant had nice traditional music in background during service. Excellent! One of the nicest chicken Biryanis I 've had, the spices were well balanced and tasty, not hot(as in 'chilli hot ' though which was nice, and the chicken was tender and moist. The Afghan vegetable fried dumplings 'Ashak ', were delicious, a nice change from regular dumplings as they had a crispy crust and a good combination of flavours. Great value, we couldn 't eat it all (3 adults and I got to have the leftovers the next day, so great value with a pot of cardamom black- tea and soft- drink at $98! Will be back next time I 'm in Adelaide. Friendly service too, thanks guys!
Amazing. Everything served was beyond expectation! The dumplings were yummy, I had the saffron chicken which was absolutely delicious and my partner had the lamb stew which was also brilliant. Serving sizes were huge and the rice was the fluffiest I've ever had in my life. Presentation of all the dishes were outstanding. Can't wait to go back again already! (Keen to go back with a large group of people so I can try even more dishes!
This is the second time we are here. Love all the food we ordered. So tasty! The lamb shank is so tender, practically slides off the bones. Portion is reasonable, definitely enough to fill our tummy. The food and hospitality were amazing! I would give it more than 5 stars if I could! The food tasted like it was made with tender, loving care. Thought we live almost an hour away, we would definitely be coming back here again!
The food was great with a big portion. Very authentic and flavourful. The staffs were friendly. Good history about Rumi. I do recommend this place for good Afghan cuisine. Also there is a parking behind the restaurant.
More than a worthy alternative to the other Afghan place in the west. The eggplant is a must have, double up cuz one is never enough. Skip the naan which is not made in house anyway, go for rice.
