Ms. Ruth is a family-owned restaurant that truly makes you feel like part of their family. The service is exceptional, and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. I always enjoy the food and the overall vibe of the place. You can count on leaving with a smile on your face any day. I also appreciate the care they take in preparing and packaging my meals. Today, since I'm not feeling well, I called ahead for some soup, and I know it will be hot, hearty, and just what I need.
Ordered Cow foot...1... poorly packed2.... the food taste sour like it was made from the day before and wasn't stored at the right temperature.3... the ripe fried plantains.... were black and soggy..Called and the person that answered wasn't apologetic, she went on to say they don't care about loosing customer... I Shouldn't expect any better though these jamaicans establishments are garbage when it comes to customer service
I only had a bottle of ginger beer and a fried dough ball, but it was just what I needed on a 95-degree afternoon. The drink was refreshing, and the dough ball—whatever was in it—was surprisingly delicious. And it was just 50 cents! The young man at the counter was friendly and very helpful. By the way, I had just enjoyed two decent tacos next door, but the service there wasn't particularly warm.
Every time I visit New York to see family, I make sure to stop by this restaurant. My wife is a big fan of their curry goat, while I can't get enough of the ackee and salt fish—it's absolutely delicious! Their oxtails are fantastic as well! Everything at Ruth's is simply outstanding! The beef patty is especially incredible, and the jerk pork and oxtail are phenomenal as well! The cabbage, rice, and mac and cheese are also among the best I've ever tasted!
I love Ruth's. She's been in business got 20+ years easily. I've been coming here since I was a teenager with my dad and I'm 29, now! I do miss the old prices but also understand times have changed.
The food is outstanding and very fresh. The patties taste homemade rather than pre-packaged. The owner is incredibly lovely. I highly recommend this place, and the prices are fantastic!
