We ordered a variety of dishes at the restaurant including papa a la huancaina, tallarines verdes, ceviche mixto, papa rellena, causa, lomo saltado, and camarones al ajillo. Unfortunately, I have to say that most of the dishes were disappointing, except for the arroz chaufa and the chicken causa. The sauces for the huancaina and pesto were not good, tasting like they used artificial coloring instead of authentic ají amarillo. The pesto sauce was also too watery. I personally believe I can make better sauces at home. Additionally, the food made us all feel sick afterwards. Our orders were mixed up, resulting in potato instead of yuca, cold potatoes served as a side, and a forgotten appetizer....
When I arrived to pick up my food, I was pleasantly surprised by the unique space of the restaurant. It seemed as though they had converted an old upper level apartment into a restaurant, giving it a homey, colorful, and artistic vibe. Although small, I found that it added to the charm of the place. They even gave me a complimentary tres leches cake as a kind gesture, which was delicious. The beef in the Lomo dish wasn't as tender as I'm used to, but the flavor was excellent and it had plenty of juiciness (there's nothing worse than dry Lomo). The restaurant entrance is a small door that might be easy to overlook. There is street parking available, as well as plenty of spots in the municipal lot around the corner. The dining room upstairs has a fresh and cheerful atmosphere. The service is attentive, with the staff being knowledgeable and helpful. I particularly enjoyed the ceviche, which had a tangy flavor without being overly tart from the lime. The seafood entrees were also delicious, with everything tasting fresh and perfectly cooked. Overall, the dishes were slightly under-salted, which I personally prefer. The restaurant was not crowded, and I am excited to come back next time.

Sabor Peru has Vegan Dinner and Vegan Lunch/Takeout sections on their menu which can be found on their website [hidden link]. I started with the (Vegetable) Causa Salad which was a molded pepper mashed potato stuffed with vegetables mixed with a vegan mayonnaise. For an entree, I had the Tacu Tacu de Hongo which was a rice and bean pancake pressed, and flattened on the grill, (resembling a hash brown), with a vegetable and mushroom medley on top, served with yuca and sweet plantains. The dish had great flavors and presentation.
My husband and I ate here for the first time yesterday and we loved it. The place is nice and cozy, the staff was very friendly and the food was delicious. We ordered the specials and the flavors and plate presentation were great. We will make his place our regular rotation.
They have a vegan menu. You do have to request it but once we told the server she was great about letting us know about all the dishes that could be made vegan. The vegetable spring rolls were perfect. I had the mushroom lomo. Everything was great. We’ll be back!

Wow... I just had the spicy mango salad and the Causa appetizer together! It was an excellent combination! I'm also enjoying the tacu tacu. I would give it 5 stars if I could.
