Having grown up in the area, this used to be my preferred Safeway due to its convenience, proximity, and the nicer parking lot compared to the one on Redwood Road. I have shopped at this Safeway since I moved to CV and have never had an issue until today. My sister who is from out of state is staying with me. She was discriminated at the store by a cashier named Dorothy. This was done in front of my child. Dorothy who happens to be black, spoke to my sister with a tone and watched her every step until she left the store. All because of the way she looked and the fact that she used an EBT card. I went to purchase shrimp this morning and it was still frozen, I told the guy I didn't want it frozen because I knew I was going to end up paying more than what I was getting. He just kind of smirked, that's all the had frozen shrimp, I needed it so I had to get it frozen.I figured it shouldn't be that much difference, well I just weighed my defrosted shrimp and out of the 3 pounds I purchased I ended up with just about 2 pounds and 5 or 6 ounces. that's more than ½ apound off. I'm sorry but that's a rip off, I know everything is going up in price but they should account for the frozen weight and either give you extra or just charge you less. The store is clean and well-organized, making everything easy to find. Many of the employees were friendly and polite. However, a cashier named Dorothy was very rude to me for no reason. When I told her I was placing an Instacart order, she responded with an unnecessary attitude, saying, "Okayyyyy and??" A simple "okay" would have sufficed. Her behavior felt very unprofessional.

This Safeway Deli is much better than the one on Redwood, where the manager, Rachel, was unpleasant. I stopped going there because she was treating a courteous clerk who was helping me bag my groceries poorly. The staff and managers at this location are friendly and fantastic! Plus, they have a delicious variety of sandwiches!
The entire meal felt outdated at this restaurant. The only exception was the fresh pasta salad. The potatoes and Chicken Wings (Bone-In) were particularly disappointing - dry and tough. It is unacceptable for a store like Safeway to sell such low-quality food. Customers deserve better, especially when paying for a meal.
The fruit and vegetables look like that fell off the back of the truck. Twice ! And some of the people working there just acted like that just didn't want to be there.
I had selected ciabatta bread, but they substituted it with a croissant without checking with me first. I did not order a breakfast burrito.
