Saffron is undoubtedly my favorite restaurant in the world and certainly the finest option in my adopted hometown! Since I discovered it in 2005, I make a point to visit Saffron at least once every time I come 'home,' and I've never been let down by the quality of the food. The ingredients are outstanding, and everything is skillfully prepared, from the simple piri piri chips to the more exotic dishes. Saffron’s commitment to using local products not only ensures that everything is incredibly fresh, but it also means that the menu changes frequently; every time I've visited, it has been entirely different! I visited Saffron once and personally, I don't plan to return anytime soon. The restaurant aims to stand out, and it certainly does, but I found the food to be somewhat pretentious and overpriced. Additionally, the service was a bit unfriendly. It's not a place I'd really recommend, though I can see why some people enjoy it since it has been around for years and appears to be quite popular!
Exceptional use of local ingredients, prepared with skill. We savored the smoked duck salad, which was complemented by a delightful berry coulis and crispy potato shavings—a wonderful combination. The lamb was cooked to perfection, served alongside couscous and a sumptuous gravy. It was truly delicious!
Saffron is probably my favourite restaurant in the world, and definitely the best my adopted hometown has to offer!
