I was looking for somewhere within walking distance of the theatre and with a few to choose from, I wasn't sure I had chosen the best one. However, I was very happy to have been proven wrong. From the moment we were seated, we were given excellent and smiling customer service - always high on my must haves. The food matched the service and I think I ate the best curry puffs I have ever eaten before. The pastry was superb! The prices are more than reasonable and when the wait staff quietly remind you of the time before the show, it is a nice touch. Found Sago by googling restaurants near La Boite theatre. There were several to choose from but my desire for Laksa sent us to Sago! We were not disappointed !! The service was excellent - the co-owner was a fountain of information on wines ( best Chardonnay I've had in very long time!) and the food was beautiful. The food was very fresh and flavoursome . The Curry Puffs were to die for ! My husband had the Laksa and he was very impressed. I had the duck. Meals were beautifully presented and of good size. Service was excellent and they were very mindfulof time as they knew we were going to the theatre. Will be back again without a doubt!
I've been here before, and loved it!, but this time I ordered the Calamari & I may aswell have ordered a plate of batter!, my wife's beef was as chewy as a really chewy thing! It was an $8 corkage fee! And they made me open the bottle & poor it! They did nothing, except bring me a glass!$8 for the glass?? Never again!!! There are other places much better than this dive! Sorry but when they start off well & then start to take advantage of the customer, they only deserve the truth! Stay well away from this eating trap!
I went to Sago with work colleagues. We drove here in anticipation of a good meal. We weren't disappointed. I ordered fish, and the others ordered spicy beef and a Laska. I have included photos. This restaurant has been our fav Vietnamese restaurant in Brisbane...amazing food, amazing flavours...until tonight! We turn up, the menu has changed to a god awful one and apparently the owners have changed and the food isn't a patch on what it was. Sooooo disappointed! We will never be back again!! Yukk
I could not recommend Sago more highly. It is so delicious and affordable that I can't help but visit regularly. Two hungry people can easily share one $12-14 meal, and the Vietnamese cuisine is the perfect fusion of traditional with Western touches.
our experience with the flavours of the food at Sago Restaurant immediately took us back to our holiday in Vietnam. With the wonderful friendly service and the convenient location, Sago is a must to dine at.
