I’ve only stopped in at Saigon Foodies once before, and was so impressed with their banh mi that I decided to head back and try out their pho. It’s a small store with no frills but a real sense of welcome. They clearly have their regulars, and I can see why! I ordered the beef pho $12) to dine in, and took a seat by the window to watch the world go by. Saigon Foodies doesn't look like much - it's more of a hole in the wall than a restaurants, with a few tables and chairs scattered on the sidewalk outside.But the food. Dear lord, the food. The Banh Mi (pork sandwich roll) is their specialty, and it will force you to reconsider how good a sandwich can be. Likewise, their rice paper rolls force you to judge every other rice paper roll you have eaten rather harshly.The hardworking staff behind the counter are more than willing to share a joke as they deal with the lunchtime queues that sometimes stream out the door. This place is something special.
What a hidden gem. Vietnamese pork rolls with or without chili and coriander are fantastic and should be the first thing you have before going back and trying some of their salads or the rice paper rolls.Everything I have had has been good and great value for money. The younger girl serving appears to be rushed and therefore a bit brusque but after you slow her down a bit she is a delight and will steer you towards some of the best options. Her Mum (I assume) is also very knowledgeable and pleasant.
Fresh spring rolls filled with Tofu,Sweet Potato and Wood Ear Mushrooms or Chicken and Avocado are $7 for two. Food is tasty, but like most takeaway Vietnamese, there’s plenty of noodles to fill out the serve. One thought on “Saigon Foodies, Kingston – a quick drop by”. That looks delicious – and healthy too!

This place is my absolute favourite for a quick lunch in Canberra! Such simple and absolutely delicious food. The ladies who run this place are so friendly and it really has this great community vibe going, whereby hellos are said and conversations had. Fresh, quick, healthy, delicious food at its best. I highly recommend the pho, sticky rice, fresh rice paper rolls and soups :-)
Only a small menu, but everything on the menu is top quality. The pork rolls have become an every-Saturday occurrence for me in the last few months. That said, it was the pho that got me hooked in the first place. Also the chicken soup is the best I've ever had. And the hand made spring rolls with hot sauce are also the best I've had... You've got to try this place.
I have been here a few times. Briefly, food is always delicious. Customer service from main owner is horrible but her mother (I assume) is sweet. Always stressed vibe and shoddy products (ie straws, cups, bowls). Don't order any drinks from there, although good rice paper rolls.
What a tasty, big, bowl of soup. We were working in Kingston and had just enough time, at 2 ish, to grab a bowl of soup. This was perfect. Quick service, easy access, good portion, not too heavy, not too expensive. Everything was just right.

Really good authentic, healthy Vietnamese food. Very inexpensive. The girl and her mother who own it are very nice. It is a great place to get lunch and the pork rolls are a great take away.
Great little takeaway or casual eating setting. Vietnamese Pork rolls are great. Food is reasonably priced and the owners are very friendly.
