Whenever I am in town I drop by and pick up a Tuna Melt. Fills me up and tastes fantastic. The barbeque beef buns are also a favourite. Small place with very limited seating so 10 am and noon tend to be very busy. Good grab and dash food thou the Phili-cream cheese bun is a bit heavy to do that. It is a mini bakery that has been there for a very long time due to the good food. Open Monday to Friday, their smart and take the weekend off.
Oh Sally Bun! We've been stopping at Sally Bun each Victoria visit for years - maybe 15 years? I think the ownership has changed, but the buns haven't much. This trip, we had some hits (curry) and misses (hamburger - toooooo much sauce). It is very small, but have a courtyard in the back that hasn't changed a bit. Nice place to sit and have a quick bun or two and a drink for lunch. Great to take to go for a snack or meal later.
Fantastic baked goods that are creative and delicious. The couple who run Sally Bun (Mon-Fri) are some of the nicest people in town. They've got great salads and daily soup as well! I mostly go in for a quick pickup, but if it's your first time make sure to take some time to look over their boards and explore what they have to offer!
I can see this place being that perfect find for a tourist looking for a quick, cheap and satisfying place during their site-seeing day. The reason why I specify tourist and not local on a lunch break is because it is so delicious, addictive and really not healthy. Those three things combined = danger to my health and wallet! We came here while on vacation. My friend used to come here all the time while she lived here. I had a London fog (delicious!) and a cinnamon bun (also good, but not the best I've ever had). The service was wonderful. The location was cute but a little worn out looking. Would most likely return! :-)
Sally Bun was an unexpected gem of our trip to Victoria. Got the cream cheese, bacon, and tomato bun, and ran back for another after a few bites. We were saddened to learn that they are closed on the weekend, though! The unique buns are...More
The select your own salad and the spicy asian salad dressing is just amazing. They make excellent cinnamon buns just perfect for sharing. They have a great lunch selection of soups, salads, curry buns, desserts etc.

From the street you may want to pass this one by. DON'T the food is excellent and inexpensive. Great place for lunch or coffee and a cinnamon bun. Love it.
