Went there tonight with some friends and I am stunned at the service. I am not surprised there was not much to do in there tho the whole street was pretty busy. We ordered, very limeted menu, much of the things on there were not even availbile, but anyhow, we found food to order. All went pretty ok until 9 PM, they told us they were closing their till and if we wanted anything else, we had to order but keep in mind, they are open until 10. So, we did. I have been staying in the area for work for the past 12days and found accommodation close to Salmon and Bear - as i was planning on going. I've eatten at the Newtown Salmon and Bear many times when previously working in Sydney (its fanastic) - anyway - i dined at the Zetland Salmon and Bear twice over the twelve day period. Perfect if you are in the mood for delicious fish based good in nice surrounds but you don't want to make a day/night of it. What a great find. Simple concept: tasty, fresh food in a clean and tidy but uncomplicated setting. Order at the counter. Eat, enjoy, leave. We had fish of the day on one of the poké bases. Sensational. Side of fresh veges (brussel sprouts, done divinely) and crispy sweet potato chips (also perfectly done).
The food has always been delicious at Salmon and Bear but we experienced the most accommodating service on Saturday when Aaron served us and tried to accomodate the different needs of my friends. We went hunting a restaurant near to where we staying and stumbled across Salmon and Bear. The food was amazing. We had barramundi and salmon with 2 sauces, Asian greens and some amazing Brussel sprout. A great place and the advice about the food was spot on.
Awesome place with friendly staff! Food tasted quite nice and it is a nice change in menu and offerings compared to other places around.

Small menu but delicious fish, probably the best fish restaurant in Sydney. I really liked the catch of the day offer - you can try new fish every day.
Not a good choice if you are hungry and after value for money. Dont recommend salt and pepper squid, prawns as starters

Very friendly service! I tried the salmon poke bowl, and it came in good time. Very filling and good portion size.
