We tried Salt and Brick in Kelowna. The food was amazing!!! The menu is always changing but a couple that were featured on the Food Network are there to stay which is great because you need to try the parlour waffle cone! Creamy yam ragout,...salty salami and some sweetness from the waffle cone blend together is this delicious dish. Wow- what a fantastic culinary experience! The decor and ambience definitely added to the night but the food was certainly the star. We had fun choosing our sharing plates and appreciated the pace in which they came out to us. Stand out favourites were the...lamb shank, brussel sprouts (with popcorn mac and cheese and the halloumi salad. Unique flavours in every dish and would recommend trying a few different ones depending on the size of your group. Would definitely recommend!
The Doritos on top of the Gouda mac and cheese brought a welcome taste and texture to a rich dish. The cream of corn in the attractive fish tart was outstanding, but the fish and sliced carrot added nothing. Maybe peppery salmon or a shrimp...with a pickled carrot instead? The tostada shells were crisp and flaky with a strong chorizo topping. The zucchini and artichoke dish was flavourful with no surprises. Overall a crowd pleasing experience.
The group I was with ate here for my birthday and it was AMAZING! Try all the food they suggest and you will not be disappointed I promise! Our favourites were the brussel sprouts, Mac and cheese and the waffle cone. The atmosphere was so...fun too. They gave me birthday shots (on the house) in cute vintage teacups. I can’t wait to eat here again the next time I travel to Kelowna!
Fabulous service! The chef personally took our menu and marked each of the items that were Gluten Free. We had three plates to share and each (Lobster Brie Poutine, Clams and Asparagus) was exquisite!!! Quite expensive, but fresh ingredients and beautifully plated.
Great friendly servers and awesome food. They have a rotating menu which means that they print their menu daily depending on what the chef says and what’s available. A bustling spot in Kelowna, definitely recommend!
Busy flavors that leave a lot to be desired. The service is great and the wines are not bad. The “staples” are pretty average. Salt and Brick is worth a visit, but I would temper your expectations.
Food was just ok, very small portions and pricey. Tried to talk to the owner who was very unfriendly and rude , was overcharged for wine, when brought to their attention they said..ooh well
