We just stopped for coffee and the black forest cake since it's the specialty of the region. The cake was superb. The coffee was also very good. Actually, all the food we saw looked very fresh and good and would recommend this place for lunch. It's right by the market so there is lots of opportunity for people watching. There was a man strolling and playing music which was very pleasant. They were very busy and the server was slow but I guess he just couldn't keep up. I recommend this restaurant.
Was in Freiburg yesterday and decided to stop for warm spot for cake and coffee. We found Sam's right by the Munster. It turned out to be the most lovely time and good eats. The cafe was warm and cozy. The girls were super friendly and we had a seat right up front window. The crumble was super, with creme and ice cream. We ate our crumble and enjoyed the moment. Even when finished, no one rushed us out the door. Bet it is super nice in the summer at one of the outdoor tables on the square.
Me and my sister were walking around looking for the perfect cafe and we found it! I had a hot choccie with a salted caramel brownie and my sister a pizza, it was so delicious! The service was excellent especially as the waitress spoke good English which made it easier to say what we wanted : Really happy with the service and food, if in Freiburg definitely take a trip to Sams!
Wir waren zu viert und haben verschiedene Süßigkeiten und Getränke bestellt. Die Süßigkeiten sind sehr lecker und die Portionen ziemlich groß. Die heiße Schokolade mit Orangenschnaps ist einfach herausragend, die beste, die ich je hatte. Ich bin mir nicht sicher, ob es die Qualität des Schnapses oder die heiße Schokolade selbst war.
Kein WLAN im Jahr 2022!!! 1 € für die Toilette, sogar wenn man Kunde ist (auf die Rechnung gesetzt). Kein Blick auf die Kathedrale (in Renovierung). Nur eine Touristenfalle, SEHR ENTTÄUSCHT.

Right by the cathedral, this cafe gets the morning sun. It's a perfect place for people watching. We really enjoyed our coffee, warm pretzel, butcher muesli and fruit with yogurt.

Guter Ort für einen Cappuccino und Schwarzwälder Kirschtorte! Gute Lage und angemessene Preise. Es ist oft überfüllt, und man muss auf einen freien Tisch warten.
