We were really excited for the buffet and we got there at 1pm so we figured we still had time for prime buffet food, but that thing looked so gross, the food had clearly been sitting there for way too long and simply did not look edible. Thankfully we didn't just turn around and leave. We ordered a few pizzas and cheesebread (there were 12 of us) and lunch was pretty solid. The taco pizza was fun and the classic pepperoni did the trick. The service was solid and worked for us. The reason this Sammy's gets the same score at the other Sammy's trip I had that went more smoothly is the fact that this location has Coke products. I hope the buffet is improved upon but when in Duluth we will swing...
I took an unplanned weekend trip to Duluth and found myself craving some classic Italian food. I was in the mood for a hearty red sauce to go with simple spaghetti and meatballs, and the portions were quite generous. However, while the meatball was nicely firm, I felt it could have been a bit softer. My friend Basil ordered the tortellini with a mix of red and white sauce, and he preferred the white sauce. Both dishes came with a salad that featured standard iceberg lettuce. The only homemade dressing they offered was ranch, which, while mayo-based, tasted more like straight mayo than a mix of ranch spices. It definitely needs a better balance. I'm looking forward to trying the pizza next ye...
Remember how going out for pizza felt as a kid? Sammy's is like that. They also have great pasta, in fact that's my preference there actually, but they do pizza like it's supposed to be done. I'm not a big drinker either, but the huge frosty mugs are a treat in their own right and serve some of our favorite local brews, also the pizza buffet at lunch is excellent. Service is light, but absolutely all right and no complaints here. The feel is... old school pizza place like I remember as kid.
We absolutely loved the pizza! Four of us gathered at Sammy's for dinner, and since we’re not from the area, it was our first time trying this place. Our server was incredibly friendly, and the restaurant was spotless, including the restroom. We ordered a Sausage Mushroom pizza, which was served hot and tasted fantastic. Not a fan. A lot of my friends and relatives love this place..... Really do like the lunch buffet but more for the salad bar etc.....,. Not sure but pizzas always seem a bit greasy.
Sammy's . This has been around for eons . Great place and only has gotten better . Don't miss out on the buffet all you can eat . Mmmm
Their pizza is exceptional and definitely worth trying. I prefer it over Rocco's—it's more consistent and absolutely delicious!

One of the pizza makers was coughing right on the pizzas being made. It seems like hygiene isn't a worry here.
