Seriously... this place is useless for families with small children, which is ridiculous given that it’s in a park. I don’t know how some people can rave about the food and says it’s “the best cafe in Bromsgrove”! Unbelievable- you need to get out more. The food is what you can make at home and is way overpriced. They don’t take card- get with the times!! We’ve moved on to paying by phone for heaven’s sake and this motley crew are still only taking cash! I went with my friend who has a small child, as do I, and shockingly there are no high chairs.... I don’t understand why there wouldn’t be any. Today, I visited the restaurant after a walk in the park just to get a black coffee. When I was asked at the window if I wanted a small or large, I chose large and was charged £1.70. However, when I went to collect my drink at the front, I was given a small coffee instead. After explaining that I had asked for a large, the staff member said my order was for a small and that I would have to pay more for a large. Frustrated, I decided to just take the small coffee that was made and left. The way I was spoken to by the staff was not professional, and the drink itself was watery. My family and I have always had a great time at this restaurant. They now accept cards, but unfortunately, they do not have Wi-Fi. However, they do provide high chairs for those with small children, which was helpful for us. The restaurant is very clean, the staff is friendly, the service is excellent, and I found the food to be good value. We paid £1.70 for a cappuccino, £1.50 for cake, and £2.20 for a Cornish ice cream cone. Sandwiches and toasties cost £3, which I think is reasonable for a day out. It's not like you're dining at a chain with cheaper prices. The restaurant probably has high overhead costs like rent and rates. I believe it's unfair to criticize them for their prices.
Thought I'd meet my eldest at the park today with my two grandchildren. The park is lovely but when is this cafe finally going to arrive into the 21st Century. Closed for business and locked public loo too A bright but cold sunny day and you fancy a hot drink and your greeted with closed doors , not to mention the second entrance that they have been working on.for 17 months see pic below . This is poor there were lots of poeple at the park so there is no excuse , Go the Arrow valley lake cafe open , Kidderminster park cafe is open and Worcs ... My family and I brought our young children to the park and stopped by for a drink and sandwich. The server was very unfriendly and never smiled or greeted us. Despite telling him my order and asking a question, he ignored me and walked away. When he returned from a side door and glared at us without saying excuse me, it was clear he had no interest in providing good service. He didn't even thank us when he took our payment. A little courtesy goes a long way, and unfortunately, the service was very disappointing.
Popped in with my friend her daughter for a late lunch before a 4 hr journey home, I have a couple of dietary needs as soon as I said so, they immediately called over a staff member who was grabbing all the boxes checking all ingredients, all staff were smiling, jokes plenty, really lovely. I think the food was reasonably priced service was great, only down side was the wasps outside, but then at the end of August, what else can you expect?!!
First visit to Sanders Park on Tuesday, and was so delighted that the cafe was open for takeaway snacks and drinks. Considerable variety of food available. Social distancing queuing clearly marked and staff were masked. Can definitely recommend the crispy chicken wrap, it was delicious. Plenty of benches dotted around the park to sit and enjoy your lunch and big bonus the public toilets were open! Hand sanitizers too.
I feel this cafe is stuck in the dark ages. With a little bit of effort you could do some really great food and drink sourced locally. The sausages are what I’d call fair ground style, cheap nasty products. The coffee and tea are just as bad. been going to sanders Park all my life,its well maintained lovely flowers especially the roses my favourote! My dog loves the park,they have a children's area with swings and lots of different play things.the cafe is very nice small but sell various refreshments and snacks.seating outside nice morning out
