Sanpo is our go-to restaurant for when the cupboard is bare or we need a treat. The owners are absolutely delightful and always welcome us and our young children warmly. The food is terrific (highly recommend the miso eggplant and the spicy salmon sushi . I...read one review about a less than perfect experience with children. That surprised me a lot, our children have always felt at home (maybe a little too much! and there are usually families dining with children when we are there. It is a family-style restaurant, with fresh, authentic Japanese food.
Sanpo is the best Japanese restaurant in NSW. The food is authentic, delicious, and consistently top-notch. The service is friendly and efficient. The quality of the food is on par with the best Japanese restaurants in Japan. I frequently dine there with my children and have also brought many international friends who have all had a great experience. I highly recommend trying the Sashimi Boat and the eggplant steak caramelized with miso sauce - both are outstanding. The atmosphere is always relaxed and welcoming. Thank you, Sanpo!
I discovered a hidden gem when I went to this restaurant last night with some friends. The Japanese food was truly amazing. The sashimi was incredibly fresh and delicious, and the "Hot Pot" was a standout dish of the evening. I will definitely recommend Sanpo to others!
We visited this restaurant while in Sydney. We wanted a quick but tasty meal as we were tired after a full day at the races. We were very impressed with both food service would most definitely recommend. In fact we went back again the...following night.

What a hidden gem. I went to this place last night with a few friends. Really amazing Japanese food. The sashimi was so fresh and tasty and the “Hot Pot” was fantastic, and the highlight of the dinner. I will definitely be recommending Sanpo!
Sampo Japanese Restaurant continues to provide great food and fine service. Sashimi, gyoza and sushi were all good options. BYO wine with $3 per person charge. Good fraught beer options. Recommended to friends.
I went with my friends who love Japanese food and were craving authentic dishes. I really enjoyed the sushi and saikyo miso fish. The service was also excellent.
It was fantastic, the little bowls the presentation the best tempura I have had in ages and the Selection of dishes. And it bring your own.
