We waited 1 hour 20 minutes for this bbq for some reason they were extremely slow. There were many times we wanted to leave but we just stayed after waiting for over an hour. Their soda machine was also broken so we basically didn 't have any food or drinks (besides water) and it wasn 't that packed inside. I 'm not sure what the issue was but this was so unnecessary. We came for the pork ribs but it was out so we got brisket and pulled pork. The only decent item was the pulled pork. Brisket was average. you haven't had amazing authentic bbq before coming here!! this is THE spot for all things bbq, brisket, and authentic santa maria grilled meats!! my first time ever having santa maria bbq, and i will never be able to go back to normal bbq ever again!! the way the meats are prepared, grilled, and seasoned are so spectacular and taste extraordinary!! their brisket, ribs, pulled pork, and sandwiches are the best of the best, and i cannot get over how amazing the staff and service are!!! these are the nicest people you will ever meet, we spent over an hour talking to chef michael while watching him prepare everything, and i have never had such a friendly and enjoyable experience at a restaurant...
3.5 stars. Not too bad. I feel like i 've had better but understandable a lot has changed due to Covid and Santa Maria BBQ is worthy of a second chance. Came here an hour before closing. There were already some people waiting on to go orders. This spot is located in a residential building and looks like it 's shared with a coffee business in the morning. If you love BBQ, you will love Santa Maria BBQ!!! The food is EXCELLENT!!! The staff and customer service is EXCELLENT!!! I was delighted from the second I walked in with the delicious aroma of BBQ hitting my taste buds before I actually ate!!!!!! The restaurant itself is beautiful and spacious, which makes it the perfect place to eat with the whole family, date night, with friends, or pretty much anytime they are open. There's parking around the back and are available for pick-up. This place is awesome so go and have the best BBQ of all time!!!! I'm very pleased with my dinner tonight. Everything was cooked to perfection and it was delicious! It was my first visit and I'll be back in the future. I was very impressed with the bbq meats and sides. I ordered the brisket, Armageddon fries, and 1/2 chicken with Mac and cheese, Cole slaw, and potato salad. The brisket was so soft and tender. I highly recommend this! The Armageddon fries were like the best of all worlds beer battered fries topped with Mac and cheese, brisket, and beans. It was incredible!
What delicious food! I had the tri tip sandwich with slaw on a toasted roll and a side of collard greens. Greens had slices of andoullie sausage and came out nice and hot. As you may know, Santa Maria style is not slathered in sauce, but they do give you a side of sauce in case you might want it. The meet was good enough without. The restaurant is so relaxing, patio seating as well, great set up, and music was great (Etta James!)First time coming but I will return.
Worse bbq experienced I have had in a long time . Brisket and beef rib was very dry and lack seasoning and smoke flavor . Honestly our food looked and tasted like it was leftover bbq from the day before . Portion was ridiculous and very overpriced. I do not recommend this place at all . It is very disappointing when you spend good money and the food is made with no heart or pride and reflects on the final product.
No exaggeration, the Beef Rib I had here might be the best tasting piece of meat of any kind I have ever had. (Insert joke here) seriously it was amazing, doesn't even need sauce but if you want their sauce was excellent as well. It was one of those things you eat that are so good you want to all your friends eat it too just so they understand how good it was.
I had the brisket. Oh boy, it's Santa Maria amazing. It is smoked 17 hours and tasted like MONTREAL style BLACK PAPPERCORN CRUSTED outside, jucy mouthful inside. Yumm... Damn i finised them all forgot to take A pic or save it a piece for my mom. What you see is left over sauce...whoops. Heee.
