I have been performing in saravanna bhavan for at least 2 months. in the past the service was good, eating was good and prices appropriate. visited once during the covid and noticed the change. but went back to the weekend after covid. to find a drastic (and very negative) change. no menus were issued and the personal did not even instruct them to use their mobile and QR code to order. when the online ordering menu didn't work, it took time for the employees to finally come and take my order and not seemed very happy about it. I asked for water for the table and was told that they no longer serve water, but I can use a small 300ml bottle for $1. how ridiculous is that? which restaurant do no...
The food was absolutely fantastic! Everything we ordered was of the highest quality and more importantly tasted like authentic South Indian food should taste. The young man who served us was very polite and helpful, and the manager Randy was always ready to be of...help whenever we asked. If I was to offer one criticism, it would be that the paneer butter masala we ordered as take away, was too sweet and tasted like every other Indian restaurant in Australia. But the reason I visited saravana bhavan was to have South Indian food, and based on that I can give this restaurant no less than a 5 out of 5.
Hi, I am Vinayak I read the review before going to the restaurant. Review was bad. But I thought most of the time review will be written by the people who had bad experience. Some times it does happen so. And people with good experience...tend not to write the review. That is why I thought I should go and try myself. Good that I did it. I had the best experience. Staff were very friendly and approachable. Service was very fast. Food was very tasty. I have no complain. Excellent. I would recommend to any one to have go end enjoy.
I must give this the first benefit because it was the first restaurant I tried after reaching Melbourne. Reason being it was just beside our hotel and we didn't have to walk far for a quick breakfast.<br/ Surprisingly, the south Indian stuff we ordered tasted great (not a huge fan of the filter coffee though). ordered pongal and armeni for children, but pongal quantity is 200 container. now a day quality also bad. they didn't send a chutney for the pongal. called restorant and informed in the middle of the separated and not received my phone after. worst quality. unprofessional staff ....
Visited the place to have South Indian meals and I wasn't disappointed.The South Indian meals was good , sambhar and rasam tasted authentic.The business lunch was not as per our expectations. But overall we were satisfied.Place is decent and well located. Service was also quick.
Came here as a last minute decision and really enjoyed the meal. Had the paneer 65, paneer butter masala and aloo gobi. Nice big servings. The service was very good and staff very friendly. Also the restaurant is very clean and tidy always a plus!

authentic South Indian food and coffee. the staff is polite and helpful. dosas n chutneys were excellent and contactless with robots. a proposal, during the impact times, rest rooms must be cleaned regularly.
