I normally don't write reviews, but after last nights experience, I am compelled to do so… We made a reservation for 10 people a week ahead of time. We arrived five minutes early, were seated promptly. That is where the service ended. After almost 30 minutes our food order still had not been taken, we still didn't have our drinks, nor the promised bread basket. Couldn't find our server. Asked another server to take our order. He said he couldn't, but would get the manager. 10 minutes later the manager came, not sure why??? We are very reasonable people, didn't shout or get angry, but assertively told her this was a family gathering and we were not happy with the time it was taking to get ser...
We've had the pleasure of eating at this location a couple of times typically the food has been great. We visited again recently by popular demand of our kids. Unfortunately this time was very disappointing..... the fresh salad bar has been completely discontinued and all of our dishes were just "ok", the most unfortunate part was almost ALL of the food was lukewarm and cool. NOT something you expect for $29.00 a plate. Guess we'll pick a new favourite restaurant.
It felt like I was dining in a senior citizens' cafeteria. The server, although very friendly, seemed inattentive, possibly because they had too many large tables to attend to. Additionally, I overheard two employees discussing the pending closure, giving the impression that the staff may have lost motivation. It's disappointing to see the decline from the upscale steakhouse that this restaurant once was.
Full restaurant and bar/lounge here. I prefer the lounge for the sports TV open concept. Even has an outdoor patio. Has its own menu but restaurant one available or mix choices form each. Favourite appetizer is their Bacon Wrapped Scallops. All the food is great. Service is pretty good but can be a bit slow. Sometimes just not enough staff. Doesn't matter. My next trip will include at least 1 stop here.

We had excellent service from our waiter named SUPER ! He was very fast and attentive, meeting everyone's needs for wine, water, etc. The only downside was that my wife had to return her prime rib as it was difficult to cut, which is very unusual for her. I assume it was just a bad piece of meat. Otherwise, everyone was happy and satisfied. Thank you, Louis Berlinguette, Edmonton.
This is what a local steakhouse should be. Solid eats (steak, potatoes, salads), efficient service, and affordable prices. No attitude from the staff, just friendly help. No loud music. No low lighting (so that you cannot even read the menu). Keep it up Sawmill!
A few of eat here once or twice a month, mostly work related lunches, and is a convenient and consistent location for us.We typically sit on the lounge side, and the service is always very good. Food is consistently decent and comes as ordered.Easy to recommend.
Had supper here for the first time. Everything was ok. The meal was ok the service was ok, I was expecting more. I probably won't go again, not because it was terrible but because I enjoy staff that friendly and food that I loved.
