Not really a review in that we were booked in early October to attend a relatives wedding. Was really looking forward to our stay, smart hotel! This week we get a call to tell me our booking has been cancelled. When I ask why, I’m told the hotel is closed for the rest of the year as it has been contracted to the Home Office. When I queried this, the inference was that it may be used to accommodate migrants. Never going to consider booking this hotel again. I appreciate in these times the hotel probably needs the revenue, but I think customer service sucks as no alternatives were even suggested.
We arrived for a special meal after traveling from Leicester with 6 other members of our family to celebrate our wedding anniversary, as we had our wedding reception at Scalford Hall 15 years ago. Upon arrival, there was no one to be found apart from some maintenance staff. They informed us that there was no water so they were closed. There was no communication to inform us of this, and we emailed them multiple times after this to find out what went on, with no response whatsoever. What a horrendous way to treat your customers. Extremely disappointed.
I haven’t received any communication from the hotel about the cancellation of my reservation due to the housing of illegal asylum seekers. This establishment seems more focused on making money than on the well-being of its customers. They don’t deserve any business when they reopen to the public. Service rating: 1/5.

Countryside hotel with good customer service. Very old building with some outdated features. 2.5 star from me because the gym and games area are not in good shape and rooms need a lot of heat to become conducive Rooms: 1 Service: 1 Location: 1
Just seen this place on four in a bed. Very weird father/son relationship. Quite clearly some inbreeding within this family over the generations.
I had my wedding canceled just seven weeks before the date, and there was absolutely no communication about it. Service rating: 1.
