I’ve been hearing good things about Scalini Fedeli for a few years now, so when my wife and I finally got a babysitter for a night we decided to try it for the first time. The first impression we got was just how incredibly charming the restaurant is. Kinda like upscale farmhouse chic. We were early for our reservation so the hostess politely informed us our table wasn’t quite ready and offered us a glass of Prosecco. When we were seated in the dining room we were immediately impressed by the curved vaulted ceilings and large columns that sort of broke the room up into smaller sections. Went for a romantic dinner... The phone interaction leading up to the dinner did not feel particularly... special. Parking is a bit... tedious. It seems to be valet only, but the lot is so small that the valet was forced to shuffle a number of cars before returning my vehicle, which amounted to something like a 10 minute wait (fortunately the weather was nice as there was very little room to wait inside). The restaurant itself feels very crowded and noisy. It was hard to hear the waiter, and also difficult to have a nice conversation with my wife. As this was a well-ranked romantic NJ restaurant I was expecting something more... well... romantic in nature. The food was very good. The shrimp...
So overpriced and overrated ! Price Fix menu is terrible Amazed how for the first course they give you one shrimp.. I’ve been in Shrimp business for over 40 years and this was a JOKE. Ecuador shrimp ? Really ? One 26/30 count on the dish ? That cost them maybe .15 cents I know shrimp and Ecuadorian shrimp are NOT special. Never return to such a overpriced, overrated place. Why go to what is declared the best restaurant in NJ, the food of course and it was disappointing; maybe there was too much hype. The service was exceptional as was the chairs and surroundings; but most important is the food. For the amount the pricing was on the high side. The food was absolutely delicious! The restaurant was a bit noisy, but we were seated to the left as we walked into the dining room, so it wasn't too bothersome. I would definitely return.

The dining experience at this restaurant is always fantastic. The cozy atmosphere is enjoyable and the food is incredibly delicious.
