UPDATE 7/26): because of the last trip (see below) we bellied up a couple weeks later and could have been more disappointed. So I have to take back what I said. We were back on 6/25 (4-7p) and once shift change occurred (around 5:30) we were ignored and when we asked if there was someone we could order from were met with annoyance and rudeness. The guy appeared severely put out to respond and didn 't even acknowledge our thanks . So people have bad days, but that is not necessarily on the customer. Leave your issues outside the door, cause that was enough to have us come back. Say what you will without calling me names but I miss the hot dog!! Had the French Dip instead and it was tasty. Tha...
I’ve visited Arvada many times, and I’ve always wanted to give School House a try. It worked out for our group (party of 9) to go Thursday night. I enjoyed the fried chicken sandwich and it was excellent. I’d definitely get it again. Everyone in our group enjoyed our food. Service was average. The waitress was very pleasant, but not particularly attentive. We were seated upstairs on high-tops. I would have preferred another option but it was fine. I’ll definitely plan another visit when I’m back in Arvada.
Extremely disappointed with my first visit to this restaurant. I found a hair in my mojito glass, our waiter at the bar and the staff's indifferent attitude was appalling. We informed our waiter, he took my glass, went behind the bar and returned with another glass with hair. In short: I had two mojitos with hair in the glass.There was no effort to apologize or rectify the situation. Hygiene and customer service are clearly not priorities here. Will not be returning.
Cute place, remember to look up because there's desks on the ceiling. The whole place has a history to it (it was a schoolhouse) and the place plays with that theme so well! The food was good but I felt that we were an inconvenience or that we didn't hit the minimum per person dollar amount. The food was good. Went specifically for the Monte Crisco but who does blueberry jam? It's like making pb&j with mint jelly. Can you? Yes. Should you? No.
This place has a ton of selection. This is the largest selection of whiskeys I have seen outside of Scotland. The people there are amiable.
Comfortable. Not too noisy and great food. Service was slow but we were there at 3:30 and the bartender had to be the server as well.
