My summer-long quest for roadside eateries in Connecticut brought me to a gorgeous spot today, complete with some delicious food! Scottie's Frozen Custard offers a variety of lunch options at reasonable prices. Unfortunately, I didn't leave any room for frozen custard, so I guess a return visit is in order... Today, I tried the 6-ounce Angus burger, the Fries Frenzy (seasoned, breaded fries), and a large soft drink. Honestly, I would nominate this as the best burger in Connecticut, and perhaps even the best fries! Everything was incredibly tasty! I recently visited this restaurant with a large group on a Tuesday evening. Despite the size of our party, the service counter handled our orders efficiently, and the food arrived promptly. I tried the shrimp burger, which was delicious and unique, complemented perfectly by the mango salsa. I also ordered fries and a custard, which was, as expected, fantastic. Although they were out of my usual choice, chocolate, I decided to take a chance on the Pina Colada flavor, and I would definitely get it again! The service was friendly, there was ample parking, and plenty of seating available under a covered pavilion. Overall, it's an excellent snack shack!
What a delightful and laid-back spot for fantastic food! This restaurant takes me back to the charming roadside diners of yesteryear, where there was a genuine pride in service and a warm feeling that the staff truly cared about their jobs and their customers. The frozen custard is incredible, but honestly, everything on the menu is delicious. They clearly don’t skimp on quality, which is something many similar places often compromise on. Their goal is to ensure you have a wonderful experience and to keep you coming back for more, and they consistently succeed every time we visit!
It is absolutely the best custard!! I love the sundaes and the vanilla and chocolate custard!! So rich and creamy! I do not care for the other flavors. The other flavors are artificial syrups that they add to the chocolate or vanilla custard and blend to get another flavor (ex coconut, pistachio, blue moon) to me these are so fake. However, I just stick to the original and am never disappointed! We have also tried the hot food. Everything has been very good. The BEST frozen custard! I've went to that chain frozen custard place (Rita's) after being introduced to FC at Scotties and it was embarrassing how bad their product was when compared to Scotties! The easy laid back environment of the place is a bonus, but the custard is the star of the show.
Pretty good but the frozen custard wasn't the best I ever tried I would totally come back tho : also the service amazing all the employees should get a raise since if how nice they where and the ambience was the best 5 stars
Came for the custard but also enjoyed the hot dog and fries. The custard was unique in that it is scooped, rather than served out of a soft serve machine. In addition to custard, they offer an array of soft serve flavors.

I just happened to be driving and stopped in for lunch and had a burger and I'll be damned if it wasn't the best burger I've had in my life.
