Five of attended friendly welcome I had a booking and where offered a choice to tables which was good. The owner brought out a small garlic bread each tasty. Then two gnocchi sorrentina which both persons said they like the sauce but as the gnocchi had been in the oven it was rubbery and not light and fluffy as they like. The special of risotto with asparagus and "king prawns" was tasty the king prawns where definitely not king size. Nice dish. The calamari as a main was a small size dish and not worth $32. The tagliatelle was the biggest serving and was nice. Extras of patate fritter was average and the salad good. A bottle of montepulcia $53 and a beer $8.50 total was $219.50. It was good...
Had dinner here. Excellent menu choice including pizzas. Small selection for each course but we prefer this and usually find the marker of higher quality food. Calamari was superb, perfectly cooked. Homemade pasta and pork/beef ragu just delicious and reminded us of many meals in south Italy. Too full for a dessert. Wine list good and service friendly and efficient. Price mid range but excellent value. Would definitely recommend if you prefer 'proper' Italian food and not the usual chain restaurant stuff. Oh and olive oil with the bread was to die for.
My first visit was a team lunch at Scugnizzo, a set menu where I had ordered for fish of the day - salmon. It was perfectly cooked and was delicious. The next time I went with my partner, we ordered the prawn and zucchini ravioli , fried calamari with mayo. It was scrumptiously delicious and since then it's been a regular affair with this place. Their online menu mentions chicken ravioli but they don't make it anymore. Do try their Chocolate parfait served with an orange and balsamic sauce. My go to place for ravioli craving.
Fresh authentic Italian food, both ate specials of the night a risotto and chicken main. Both dishes were excellent and very filling. Squeezed in room to share a tiramisu. Fell in love with this desert it was the best version I have ever tasted. Personally we did not like at all the artwork on display and felt the restaurant needed some money spent on it. From the moment we walked in and were greeted by name (we had pre-booked) we felt welcome and that was a great way to start our dinner. Our waiter was superb, and never seemed rushed even though he was clearly very busy. There was a good wine list, with plenty of choices by the glass. We enjoyed an amuse buche then the bruschetta of the day. That was followed by complimentary bread. Our mains (salmon and lamb) were great, with interesting accompaniments. Unfortunately we had no room for dessert.
The staff here greeted us and served us efficiently throughout the evening. A nice atmosphere withe white table cloths and nice art on the walls. We choose only to eat a main course . The special of the day of suckling pig with plum vinager very nice, but quiet rich. The plum vinager made the dish. The menu was limited but nicely balanced. Our meals took quiet a while to arrive but the vino flowed, hence we had a very pleasant night. Good to be able to chat and not compete with a lot of noise.
There were a party of ten of us visiting Scugnizzo none of us ever been before,but were pleasantly surprised. The menu was only a small one but a good selection. Three of us had the Diavola Pizza it was one of the nicest pizzas I have had very hot and spicy so please be warned. The other dishes that the rest or our party ordered were also very good
We had high expectations for this restaurant, the service was excellent. Our waiter was very attentive without intruding. Very happy with the presentation of this space. I would recommend this restaurant. 4 instead of 5 stars because the menu was limited. Still, we were able to find tasty seafood dishes. The staff was friendly, the restaurant was attractive and quite enough for dinner conversation.
