This lunch experience felt like something out of a Seinfeld episode. When we walked into the restaurant, we noticed that the servers were arguing about who should take our order. Despite being tired and hungry from a long drive, we decided to stay. After a long wait, we were finally able to get the attention of the bartender who brought us water. We asked for a server, who eventually arrived and explained how busy they were and the problems they were having with the computer. Before we even ordered a drink! We stopped in for wine tasting but when we saw the restaurant we decided to stay for lunch. They had an oyster bar set up so we decided to try some. When we placed the order with the waitress she told us we had to...go up and order the oysters separately because it's not part of the winery. Weird. Fine went up and got oysters and ordered the rest with the waitress. Oysters were very good, delicious. Wine was good, tomato soup was tasty. Roast beef sandwich was a bit dry and the chicken bruschetta flatbread was not cooked enough (the dough), disappointing. The best thing wasn't even part of huff estates, the oysters. Not sure if we'll be back.
I had the smoked salmon tartine. There was plenty of smoked salmon and capers. It’s basically an open faced sandwich. My husband had the beef sandwich which he said was ok. I tasted the beef dip and it had very little flavour. The banana cream...pie and peach pie (more of a large tart) were both very, very, poorly done. The banana cream pie was an odd texture and thick and heavy. The pastry in the peach tart was bland and heavy. I just scrapped the ‘very’ little bit of peach there was in the tart and ate it. We each had a glass of wine a side salad and soup for $81.00 plus tip.
However, something seems to have changed recently. During our last visit, the experience was terrible. They only served pizza and failed to inform us that they were out of coffee and desserts. The cappuccino we were served was horrible. There was also no sign of the pleasant server we were accustomed to, and Dorothy was nowhere to be found. This disappointing experience has left us with no reason to return. We hope that the restaurant goes back to the way it was before, with the good food, welcoming atmosphere, and friendly service that we used to enjoy. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
Three ladies on a wine-tasting junket though PEC, LOL. Huff Estates was our first stop as we knew they had a place to eat and we were arriving at lunch time. Two of us ordered the Quiche of the Day (asparagus-cheddar) with salad, and the...other ordered the chicken wrap with salad. Food was excellent. The quiches are little mini, single-serve size (rather than a slice from a large pie). Very pleased with the quality of food and service. Our server was a hoot. She was very funny and sassy but polite. I wish I could remember her name!
We were staying at the Huff Estates Inn and decided to drop in for lunch interesting location in the midst of the vineyard with a winery tasting room, and art gallery and sculpture garden adjacent although a limited lunch menu selection... we were very happy with our selections my partner had the smoked salmon plate and I had the pizza of the day both were ample servings and well done these were accompanied by Huff Estate Wines and all combined for a delightful lunch.
During our three-night stay at Hotel Huff, we decided to try their pizza and wine selection. The pizza had a thin crust and was perfectly cooked, while the Anwesen Riesling was quite enjoyable. The only issue was that we were charged $32 for the wine when it was only $18 at the LCBO. Additionally, I wouldn't classify the outdoor seating area as a restaurant, despite asking for clarification and receiving no explanation for the high mark-up on the wine.
On a blistering hot day we sat in the lovely cool restaurant, and had a lovely light lunch of charcutrie and salmon, with a glass of 2017 Rose wine. we had lunch here before our weintour! service was fast and friendly. we sat outside on the terrace right next to the weinberg so pretty. they have an outdoor pizza oven and that is what we had very tasty. thin crust pizza.
