Edit Second time ever stopping by here (29OCT21). Stopped in as my son got to pick for getting his permit. Once again, it did not disappoint. Great food, great atmosphere. They'll make you feel at home.I had read the reviews and decided to stop in and try it since it's a close local place. My son and I had dinner tonight trying a few different rolls. He's big into sushi but I'm still fairly selective with it, especially raw rolls. We had 6 rolls and there wasn't one that I didn't like. We were very pleasantly surprised by this place. I wasn't sure about it based on its outward appearance, but staff was so friendly and welcoming! They took special care to make my three-year old feel really special and played dinosaurs with him. We especially liked our server, Chelsea. The rest of the staff were all very attentive and the service was top notch. We loved the food, too! They have some really unique and delicious sushi offerings. I've been searching for a GREAT sushi experience since moving to the Dunedin area and this one is definitely on the top of our list! My husband considers this place a hidden gem! Don't be deceived by its location; the atmosphere is cozy, the service is excellent, and the sushi is delicious and served quickly. Plus, they have Kirin beer on tap—amazing! We began with some gyoza, which were delightful. Then we enjoyed a few of their chef's special raw rolls and a shrimp tempura roll, all of which were fantastic. I also tried the wasabi tuna on seaweed, and the serving was enormous; I could have easily made that my entire meal. I really love this little spot—give it a try, everyone!
I give this place a 3.5! The food was nice and fresh and very tasty. They had lots of options on their menu to choose from. The staff was very nice and helpful as well. Although there were some downsides. They were out of steak and tofu and it's quite odd when a steakhouse is out of steak. The sushi also took a little while to come out. The music style in this restaurant played clubbing music rather than your typical restaurant music. My guest and I were not a fan. Moreover, this is your typical sushi restaurant and I would recommend it to others.

I visited this restaurant for the first time and had a great experience sitting at the bar! It's a cozy little place where you can interact with the sushi chef and the cooks all at once. I managed to snap a photo of the shrimp and vegetable tempura, which was quite filling on its own, but I forgot to take pictures of the incredible sushi rolls! We will definitely be back!
This was my first visit, and I can confidently say I'll be coming back! After a year of living nearby and being disappointed by the local sushi options, discovering Seikaku has been a game changer. Don't be deceived by the unassuming exterior; this hidden gem serves outstanding sushi. I tried the Mandas roll and the Tuna Deluxe roll, both of which I highly recommend!
This restaurant is fantastic! The fish is consistently fresh, and they incorporate a wide range of ingredients to create some truly unique rolls. I've sampled a few other sushi places in the area, but none compare to this one. I haven't explored anything else on the menu besides the sushi rolls, but that's definitely next on my list!
We absolutely adore this restaurant! It's small, cozy, and inviting. The staff is incredibly polite and friendly. The sushi is outstanding and extremely fresh. We highly recommend this spot to family, friends, or anyone in search of delicious sushi.

This is the best sushi spot in the area! We relocated from Dunedin, which is about 30-45 minutes away, but we still make the trip just to enjoy Jose's sushi. I highly recommend it to everyone!
Tried to come here on multiple separate occasions and they were closed when their hours say open.
