Over the past weekend, we made reservations at Sfoglina as part of my husband birthday celebration. We were both excited about trying this restaurant for dinner. Prior to dinner, we were having a fantastic time visiting and hanging out in DC with friends. We arrived at the restaurant for our 7 pm reservations. The host confirmed our reservation and inquired who was having the birthday and we pointed out that it was my husbands celebration. I couldn?t say enough nice things about this place if I tried. After some extensive research combining ambience, food, dessert, cost, business (I?m still very covid-conscious, and overall experience, I decided on this place for our 2-year dating anniversary dinner. We had a reservation for 7pm on a Wednesday night. There were about 10 other guests there and we were hid away in a corner away from all of them which made my night very comfortable. that was by far my best meal in washington, dc. the meal for the four of us began with the divisible rosmarin bread with marinara and nonna palminas meatballs. my braised beef agnolotti del pin with truffle pesto was really delicious and another member of our party enjoyed its paccheri carbonate. the only loser was the big lasagna parmigiano my mannes, who was in contrast to a lasagne that each of us ever saw and almost tasted like an aubergine. (I forgot the fourth meal we all shared a few wonderful grilled asparagus. desserts included a delightful tiramisu (not the usual addition of marsala wein or around, piemontese chocolate gianluca cake, and soft serving vanilla gelato and cherry bloss... This dining experience yet again was nothing short of amazing. When I made the reservations I mentioned this was a belated surprise 60th birthday and they went the extra mile on every level. I’d love to share the whole experience but I recommend you go and have your special moment. They will not disappoint. Thank you to our server, Matthew, the chef, and the entire staff for making this a memorable evening.
We came here on a recent trip and couldn’t speak more highly about our experience. We sat at the bar and Connor the bartender kept us so entertained and made fantastic recommendations for dinner. He really took care of us and made our experience special. Food was great — the cheese course is a must-try, the agnolotti and the mafalde were excellent. Fun atmosphere, great staff and delicious food!
Went for dinner and got the garlic bread to start and the lasagna as my main dish. This restaurant was amazing and very authentic. The staff was extremely friendly. Had a cake, which I forgot the name of, for dessert and it tasted like a ferrero rocher! Great restaurant overall and I can?t wait to come back.

Service was great and food was delicious. The garlic bread was a decent size for two and my pasta dish was the perfect dinner serving. The server was kind enough to gift us soft serve ice cream to eat with our cake.
