The food was decent, but I felt overcharged for some items, especially given the portion sizes. A few weeks ago, I ordered Aloo Paratha from Shalimar in Latham, and it was fantastic with a generous portion for just $5. However, when I tried the same dish at Shalimar in Troy, it cost $8, and the portion was less than half of what I received before! My order, which included Aloo Paratha, Chicken Biryani, naan, and a small portion of Paneer Makhani, totaled $55 after fees, tax, and tip. That seems excessively high for a light lunch for two people.
The owner and staff at this restaurant are excellent. They genuinely care about making sure you enjoy your dining experience. While the decor isn't particularly impressive, the atmosphere is cozy and clean, making it a pleasant place to eat. The prices are a bit on the higher side, but they seem reasonable for the neighborhood.
Amazing delicious food.So many great spices and flavors. Restaurant and cooks need more credit definitely. They’re so kind here and if you ordered something you have an allergy to in the dish they will let you know, even call you back. Dietary restrictions: Let them know and they will accommodate! So great
On a positive note, the garlic naan was fantastic! It was full of flavor and fluffy—definitely my favorite part of the meal. I'm not sure if the restaurant allows you to specify your preferred spice level, but if you enjoy spicy food, it's a good idea to mention that in your order.

This charming family-owned restaurant offers a vast menu with plenty of options. I tried the chicken tikka masala, and in the past, I have enjoyed the lamb rogan josh and balucci chicken. All three dishes were delicious, and the garlic cheese naan is exceptional.
Absolutely delicious! The rice is perfectly fluffy, and the Chicken Tikka Masala is packed with flavor and has a fantastic texture. The Raita pairs wonderfully with the Garlic Naan. Everything is exceptional, as always!
The Lamb Curry was good but everything was watery and the Chicken Curry was like water down butter chicken and it lacked in flavor the Garlic Naan thought was the most delicious out of everything rice was good.
I give this restaurant four stars for its good Indian cuisine. However, I have to deduct one star due to the unsettling bathroom in the basement.

The tikka masala is not as good as it used to be : rice portion too small and sauce was watery and was a unnatural pink color
$15 for a 16 oz container of Palak paneer. It's the same price for 24 and 32 oz portions at most other places.
