We were staying in Edinburgh for a long weekend and foolishly hadn’t booked anywhere to eat on a Saturday night….after too many drinks on a Friday night we were hankering for Chinese food, and came across Shangri-La….. Incredible….quite possibly some of the best Chinese food...I’ve ever had in the UK. The service was also wonderful and friendly, with regulars constantly coming through the door. Don’t be put off by the decor, the food is simply excellent and the food is brilliant…and great value too
This is without doubt, my favourite restaurant ever! The combination of gorgeous food and a cosy, home-from-home atmosphere are reason enough, but Tina (the proprietor) takes this little place to a whole new level. We have been popping in for dinner regularly for the months, since we first discovered Shangri-La, and we go as much for her warm and friendly company as we do for the wonderful meals. I couldn't recommend it more highly! :
It's great. Good food at great prices, the service is the best feature. Family run and super friendly. They know me by name, and occasionally, as I pop-in for a take away after my late shift at work, they give me a free beer for my returned custom. So nice. They have great offers on three course sit-in menu.. something like £8.95 Sun to Thur. It's shut on Mondays, but everyone deserves a rest after all their hard work.
This is a great Chinese! The food is always fresh, tasty and served in generous portions. Tina the owner gives greats service and is willing to get the chef to make any dishes that may not be on the menu. So far the almond chicken and fish pot have been my favourites and I am looking forward to trying other dishes on the menu. BYOB is also a plus Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
The service from our server was extremely friendly. The food was also delicious! I ordered the pork buns with black sauce and paprika. I requested them to be extra spicy, and the chef had no problem accommodating my request. I will definitely be returning in the future!
Although this place doesn't look like much from the outside, they do some pretty tasty food. The duck in plum sauce is super yummy and although we only placed a small order (two main meals and a soft noodle to share) they gave us free prawn crackers.
This Chinese restaurant is excellent whether you dine in or take out. The service while dining in is absolutely fantastic, very personalized, and we had a great time with the waitress. It's a hidden gem.
This restaurant has a wonderful variety of vegetarian options, and the staff is very polite and friendly. It's my favorite place to eat, and it's conveniently located at the end of my street! Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
