Shingle Inn - Tisch reservieren

The restaurant is no longer in business, and has been replaced by a Jamaica Blue franchise. The coffee at this establishment was good, and I enjoyed the Egg Jenny version of Eggs Benedict. The meal was served warm, and the Hollandaise sauce was made well. However, Hollandaise is best served warm or at room temperature and can be difficult to reheat without overcooking the eggs. The coffee was also excellent, but not served at the ideal temperature of 55 degrees. The atmosphere was pleasant, with a bustling background noise typical of a shopping center.

The steak sandwich for $17.50 seemed like reasonable value and our fancy on the day but it wasn’t value nor good food! The steak was literally 3mm thin, so the taste was non existent having been overshadowed by the toasted ciabatta bread and salad...ingredients. The small serving didn’t help. Two fairly small triangles and that was it. The fries were nice. We asked for tomato sauce and it wasn’t forthcoming.

What can be better than a freshly cooked omelette for breakfast before shopping. First time back for quite awhile thoroughly enjoyed the omelette and toasted sour dough toast accompanied by a coffee just the right start before the weekly shop. Recommended.

lovely scones and so fresh and warm to have with coffee.Service friendly and comfy seating and even though it is in an open area it is not too noisy with the passing people doing their shopping.

We always stop here for a coffee when we are the shopping center, the chap runs it fantastic and the service is always top notch. They make a great coffee and cake and also quite good
