We had a table booked for 4pm today. Arrived early just after three and enquired if there were table for drinks. Was told no everything full. Walked in to beer garden. There was a free table. Came back in to pub to order drinks and explained to same manager we had managed to secure a table outside...she just told me to go to the other bar for a drink as that one shut. Had to clear about ten empty glasses off our table as no staff free to do it. Starters and child's main came quickly. Jerk chicken was just chicken goujons and terrible. Was asked for drink order as soon as I sat down. Asked if I could have a couple of minutes until my friend also arrived then no one returned to take our drinks order for ages! The food is overpriced for what it is. Some of it was quite nice, other items were pretty poor and bland. Was asked if we’d like to see the desert menu and then it wasn’t brought to us for a while. Wouldn’t go out of my way to eat there again based on the food quality, price and service.
The ambiance at this restaurant is fantastic and the food is delicious. The staff is very attentive and welcoming, always going above and beyond to ensure a great experience. Special thanks to Nikki, the manager, and Debs for taking care of us. If you're looking for a cozy and delightful place to dine, this is the perfect spot!
It's always a great time at The Ship in Styal. There is a comprehensive selection of beers and lagers. The menu is varied and will have something for everyone. With plenty of space, log fires, and a great ambience, this is a super country pub. Don't forget to tap in your reg, as the car park is now monitored by cameras.

We really enjoyed the service and food at this restaurant. The atmosphere of the pub is lovely. The main dishes and kids menu were excellent. The dessert was heavenly. The staff members were outstanding. We will definitely return in the future.
Food good, service awful. New staff waiting on tables, without sufficient training. Wrong food brought, then had to wait ages for one meal. Didn't ask if we wanted a desert or if we wanted the bill. Place needs to concentrate on its customers
The Mexican toasted sandwich is a fantastic option for a light lunch. I was a little disappointed that my delicious rocket salad was served without the balsamic dressing that I had enjoyed before. I thought they had stopped serving it.
Perfect spot to grab some lunch after a walk in Styal Woods. Friendly and attentive staff especially David! Great to relax with food and a beer in the enclosed courtyard.
