I can not speak for the food as i was planning to come in with my service dog.....this establishment is a truck /travel stop and there are large areas of grass surrounding the building which includes the gas station....my dog was peeing at least 10 ft away from any door or window or anything related to shirleys...only for a young woman probably my age to come out and YELL at me about how i better take my dog somewhere else because people are eating...m'am this is a rest stop(and there were literally only 5 constructionworkers in there)..i am definitely not the first and certainly not the last to walk a dog on the grass. I truly feel targeted because clearly im NOT from here...AND i did promp...
I've only been once. Wasn't many options to choose from I only got fried chicken Mac n cheese. I've heard so many people rave about Shirley's, so I had to give it a try. The food was fantastic! It brought back memories of how my grandma used to cook. And I can't forget to mention her custards and cobblers—they're incredible! I highly recommend everyone try Shirley's; you won't be disappointed.
It's tough to come across a non-chain restaurant on the interstate. Although we didn't get to eat here since they were closed, the place looks fantastic, and the bathrooms at the truck stop were very clean.

This is an excellent spot for southern cuisine. The staff is incredibly friendly, and the dining experience has a cafeteria-style vibe. Food: 5/5.
I found my Love for soul food again... had blackberry pie and I never do desert...I had the buffet didn't waste any dish I chose ....
Food is excellent! The best roasted chicken. I'd give 5 stars if it wasn't for the service. Very slow. You need more servers.
Vegetarian options: There were several vegetables, all seasoned to perfection.
Wheelchair accessibility: It's manageable.

Classic country kitchen. Good fish, vegetables were well prepared. A welcome change from the roadside Fast Food.
