The staff is friendly, the food is served hot, and the restaurant is spotless. The coffee is delicious and perfectly brewed. The buffet offers a wide selection, including eggs, grits, hash browns, bacon, sausage, fried bologna, French toast, pancakes, biscuits, gravy, and a salad bar with fruit and cold pasta salad, among other options. I absolutely loved Shoney's and I'm really sad to see them go. I visited on their closing day to show my support. Everything was fantastic until I was informed that I had to pay $6.99 per pound for a to-go box that the waitress handed me and suggested I fill with food from the bar. I was never made aware of that charge. Beyond that, everything else was always great, and it's tough to say goodbye. I have fond memories of going to Shoney's every Saturday and Sunday after church while growing up.
I hadn't visited a Shoney's in two decades, and unfortunately, my experience was underwhelming. The food was not appealing, with every side dish tasting like it had come directly from a can or was pre-packaged. The fried chicken was decent, but that was the sole positive aspect. Both my stomach and I felt unpleasant for the rest of the day and even the next day.
I had a disappointing meal today. The Philly steak sandwich had overcooked meat, the vegetables were undercooked, and the fresh ingredients were so salty that they could replenish the ocean. On a positive note, the service was excellent. The young lady did a fantastic job of keeping my drinks full and ensuring I was happy, even though the food was not up to par.

This is easily the best Shoney's I've ever been to! The food was cooked perfectly, and Tiffani, our waitress, was fantastic. The bathroom was also clean. I can't say enough good things about this place!
