We were persuaded to try this place by our son who loves Japanese food and were very pleasantly surprised ! Genuine Japanese food is freshly prepared while you wait in a convivial kitchen atmosphere…great for a mid week casual dine at the bar, or at small tables down the side wall. We were not sure of the policy on alcohol…most patrons seemed to be drinking water.
I order from Shou regularly, perhaps once a week. Fantastic food, always fresh - and the prices are very reasonable. Try the gyu tataki and agadashi tofu. Only drawback is that the restaurant is tiny! About the size of a large bedroom, so I don't recommend for groups, but take away is best for more than a couple of people.
We live around the corner and eat @ Shou regularly. It's a very small restaurant, with seating for only 15 people or so. Prices are very reasonable for Japanese, particularly for the quality you get here. The food is consistently high quality & fresh. Sushi is made to order & always great.
Love this place. Unpretentious little gem...little being the operative word. Share a table, sit and watch the artists at work. Friendly, fabulous and great prices. Only have take away from here but have always had nice food & their Gyoza are scrumptious! It is a shame they do not serve Ramen for take away so will have to eat in one day but their menu is pretty extensive so always get side tracked :)
We visited this cafe based on Trip Advisor recommendations, and were pleasantly surprised. I've been to Japan several times and the food here was really authentic and good tasting. I particularly recommend the Gyoza (dumplings).
Tiny restaurant but if you get a seat you're in for a treat :P Amazing food - both dine in and takeaway!! Takeaway is easier but restaurant is BYO which helps ! Highly recommend!!
