Although Hawthorn Shuji Sushi may not be as well-known as Sushi Sushi on Glenferrie Rd, I am a regular at this restaurant and have always been pleased with the meals. Located near the station, Shuji offers hot food bento boxes and a more varied menu. While the upstairs area was starting to look a bit run-down, they have recently improved the seating to enhance the overall experience. I typically opt for one of their Bento Box choices, of which there are about 7 options, all of which are filling and include a mix of hot and cold items, as well as salad and sometimes fruit. I stopped by a sushi restaurant on my way home from my physiotherapy appointment in Hawthorn at around 5:40pm. All sushi items were 50% off! The sushi was expertly made and fresh. It was a much better deal than Sushi Sushi.
The sushi and hot food at this restaurant are delicious and affordable. The service is quick, and the location is convenient for a quick meal. It is my top choice for sushi dining.
