Siam Orchid Thai Cuisine

Insanely good food! I'd never been to the Siam Orchid (even though I shop at the Smith's around the same corner. The restaurant is small on space, but HUGE on exceptionally tasty food. We are picky eaters, but every special request we made of the chef was happily met. I chose the Green Curry with chicken, which was bursting with flavor and goodness. I felt like I'd done myself a big favor, because food had lost its appeal for me. We also tried the coconut mango soup...which had perfect fruit and a surprising taste. Moved to the area two years ago and tried this place. It was nearby so I tried it. Flavors were great. For some reason, however, they have decided that they are the best in the state and raised their prices accordingly. Their prices are way too high now, and I'm not so hooked on them that I'm willing to pay for their inflated egos and bloated prices. There are other Thai restaurants nearby that are just as good and much cheaper.

We came here for a friends birthday. It was perfect. We were actually the only ones eating in. But we got top treatment from the owner Dow! So funny! Comped us appetizers, helped us with shots of saki. Was seriously so much fun! You’ve got to come see this place. The massaman curry was so delicious I ate the whole thing! She then surprised us with a birthday surprise for our friend.

We did not dine in, just got takeout. Yelp, Google, and the restaurant's front door had all different hours posted we were feeling lucky to find a Thai place in SLC open so late. In terms of customer service they will not coddle you. The food speaks for itself however, which i actually sort of prefer. Pumpkin curry and pad Thai were bomb !

Best Thai in salt lake. seriously. Get the curry puffs. Seriously. And the yellow curry makes me yummmmm so hard
