We went to this Heurigen on a Saturday evening together with friends and family who suggested going there, why I don't know. The only thing the place has going for it is its (isolated) location in the vineyards of Vienna with a lovely view of the plane below and parts of the city, which can only be enjoyed in the summer when the weather is fine. On the flip side, there is the grimy, smelly and cramped interior with a particularly unappealing buffet run by unfriendly and inefficient service staff. The location for Sirbu is stunning - you are surrounded by the Viennese vineyards with superb views down on Vienna and the Danube. We have been visiting this place for many years as it makes for a great stop when walking down from Kahlenberg to Nussdorf. Our last visit though was really disappointing. The service was SO unfriendly - you really got the impression they couldn't care less - there was a real risk of dehydration! A great shame and it might be a while before we return. The food was fine without being great and most importantly the heurigen wine was good. If you would like to enjoy a typical Heurigen in the middle of ist vineyards, go here. Beverages are served and Food has to be selected in the Little house at the desk. Try a Bratwurst with Sauerkraut ot create yourself a dish with ham and cheese. Enjoy that meal together with the beautiful view on the "backyard" of Vienna
Second stop on our walking wine tour. Food and wine by different servers but they did an excellent job keeping us fed and full of wine. Really enjoyed the four different spreads for their bread.
